I bought my 2003 MP5 from a friend...well actually traded..... Anyway....do all MP5's have ABS brakes? I don't know how to check? Of course I mean besides slamming the brakes in the rain... All my previous cars had ABS so I don't know what a non-ABS car feels like..... I don't see a ABS light come on when I start up the car either.... Thanks in advance!

No, abs is an option on US P5's and standard on Canadian models. If you don't have the abs light momentarily come on with start up then you probrably don't have abs either that or the abs is defective. In the US abs was packaged with the side impact airbags. Check the outboard side of your seats, if the is a label that says "SRS" then you have the side impact airbags and abs.

Thanks for the info...dam I guess that means I don't have it....oh well I guess this car can't have everything.... This is the first car i've owned that didn'thave ABS does it make a big diffrence? I don't want to get apranoid when it rains and all.........

I've only owned one vehicle with ABS. Google "threshold braking" and try the technique on both dry and wet roads to get a feel for the car...

If you've never hit the ABS on a car before, (you can feel pulsing from the pedal on most systems) then all the braking you've done in the past has been all you anyhow.

The P5 has great brakes for what it is.
