2017 Mazda6 - Battery management system malfunction

Thanks, but that seems to be the procedure for replacing a standard battery, not one that is part of the i-ELOOP system with super capacitor.

Same goes with my Mazda, it turns out that I had a worn out drive belt that caused this error message. I immediately replaced it, and it worked fine. If you search "Battery Management System Malfunction on YOUCANIC", you will see an article that goes over common causes and possible fixes. I hope this information will be useful to others who have had a similar issue.

I thought I read somewhere that the i-ELOOP battery is a deep-cycle battery. If so, a simple AGM battery may not last long.

Hello,

This afternoon, after I started the car I got the battery management system malfunction warning. My Mazda 6 has around 86k km and it does starts ok. I know I have I-eloop and this can cause some issues including a special battery replacement.

Did anyone tried to replace successfully (without errors) the battery with a non-oem one ? I know several people were looking at AGM batteries but I couldn't find too much info.

I am assuming the dealer will ask for quite a bit of money (700$ CAD) or around for a replacement and reprogramming with an OEM battery.

Thanks
