2012 CX-9 Touring
I just bought a 2012 CX-9 Touring used from a local Ford dealer. I didn't start out looking for one , but I am glad I got it. I got a copy of the window sticker from Mazda. My CX-9 does not have the automatic off headlight switch. I am wondering if it was omitted by the factory if Mazda would put the correct switch on the car. It might seem like a small issue, but I've had auto off headlights on my last 3 cars and I do miss it. There are no issues on the Carfax Report that would indicate a problem.

It should be standard for 2012 Touring unless it is broken.
If so, dealer should fixed it under warranty.
Any other 2012 Touring owners here?

It's not broken. The problem is that it is equipped with the stem for non automatic headlights, not the one should have come with the Carl

The Auto-off feature works automatically if the headlights are left on for more than 30 seconds after the ignition is turned to the ACC position or the engine is turned off. It can't be deactivated or modified, it's just built-in to work that way. So there's no sort of control or switch for it.

Agreed. That's how it works on my 2012 Touring. Leave the lights on - leave the car and lock it. Forget about it.

That's what my wife does also, she just leaves the lights on and they turn off on their own after a few seconds after she shuts off
