putting cai on a turbo car

1) With colder air and more air a turbo becomes more efficient. With hotter air, a turbo is less efficient. If you are boosting beyond 10psi on this car, with everything else stock, you are pushing the efficiency of the turbo..
i hope you aren't saying a CAI bring in more air?? you would be wrong...

oh well, if people want to waste their money to believe it helps, go for it, but the only thing it will do is lean out the a/f and make the turbo a little laggier, im done arguing about this =)

1fastmp5, what are you talking about? I have the spool cai, I have never even heard of anyone hitting the fuel cut just from putting on a CAI, thats ridiculous. And it sounds the same as a MSP with a SRI. So exactly when did you hear/see this msp hittin fuel cut after adding a CAI???

Chris
i was running 10psi with the cai and then switched over to short ram.....i felt a difference and havent hit cut since. where as before i would hit it all the time.

Ok well running 10psi and running stock is a hell of a lot of difference. Becuase you are not just going to hit fuel cut by slapping on a CAI @ stock boost. I ran shortram on my car the other weekend and there was no difference in sound, except the cai was louder.

Chris

On Paper..."The colder the better", and with that little ******* IC on the MSP, I would be getting one.

agreed. with a nice fmic, a cai won't help anything exactly. but the tiny stock ic heat soaks so fast, i'm sure it appreciates any help, no matter how small :).

Yup. Once I get an upgraded intercooler the Injen CAI is being converted into a SRI.
