Push Notifications!

I enabled push notifications on the site. It will work with most popular browsers, except Safari on iOS.

If you are on a supported browser (Chrome, Mozilla, ...) you can enable push notifications (even on desktop) in your user preferences.

If you are on Safari + iOS, feel free to install basically any other browser.

Fantastic! Good to know, all you have to do if you use Safari and iOS is install a different browser to get this to work. Nice

For us cave dwellers... what is "push notifications". I would like to know what this is/does before I enable.

If someone replies to a thread you are watching, or send you a private message, your mobile device or browser gets an instant notification, the same way you get emails. You can also disable emails so you only get push notifications.
