Pulling timing!!!!!

well my cars being a dick and pulling alot of timing apparently...

i have a code for no speedo (gears not in)

so i believe its in limp mode, but at boost im running great afrs (ssafc)

BUT....i get out at night and the junction infront of the turbo and about 2 inches up each pipe is glowing red...

so that tells me its retarding the hell out of the timing....would limp mode make it this bad? or do i have other probs?

i am having similar issues with the mazdaspeed protege i just bought . runs boost and a/f fine and at part throttle its fine as soon as you punch it it goes to 0 and even as low as -8 degrees timing

well the good news is his cars not pulling timing anymore! the bad news is engines dont like water and his motor didnt like the direct water injection mod he had when he wint through a foot and a half deep puddle! lol

lol, read above! his motor was hydrolocked from driving through a puddle, insurance covered it but it still sucks!

if the motor was hydrolocked it won't crank or run at all ....i thought you meant he fixed the timing issue then later hydrolocked it. ok nevermind
