ptuning package deal

before you jump on the Injen bandwagon check with ION Performance. an independent turbo mag had some interesting things to say about the performance of the Injen...

dont leave out corksport's intake, it comes with the duct and everything, it looks to be good, eta is 2 months or so though

basically i'm just wondering what everybody thinks about the performance aspect of the magnaflow. Is it the best fro the Speed or is there something better. I think that everybody agrees injen has a good thing going.

I have been looking for some hard numbers on the magnaflow exhaust as well. I believe the pipe diameter is 2.25 and some say there is like a 5-10 hp gain. The sound is exactly what I want, it doesnt seem to loud but has a nice low tone to it. You may also want to check out NOPI.com. They have the intake and exhaust also but I cant remember the prices this early.

Please be more specific. Which issue of Turbo mag are you referreing to? I have also heard from people say that the Injen CAI does not make HP, but I have not read it anywhere.

well, my take on the Injen intake, and any performance mod in general, is that most people have no clue as to shat kind of power gains you get. the vast majority of peopl elook at the peek number and say it made power or not.. THIS IS STUPID!!!! I have the issue of Turbo (march) and it shows that the intake made by ION, DID make power, not so much peek but a bunch of power through out the power band. frankly I'm a little tired of people not understanding the concept of this.

in summation, its about area UNDER the curve, before and after that tells the true story. this concept goes for ALL performance parts

what you said is true. That's why I want to read it instead of listening to what people are saying. I would not care if the Injen gives zero peak HP if instead it makes 20 whp somewhere else in the power curve.

quote from Turbo & high tech performance

peak power improvements were in the 5- to 6-HP range, but the intake really earned its keep low in the powerband. From 3500 rpm to 5000 rpm, here's a uniform gain of around 17 WHP, with the biggest jump hitting about 4700 RPM where 24 WHP was realized.

Emailed Magnaflow, that exhaust is 2.25" without a resonator. I dunno about using such a small diameter, I'd be afraid it would not be enough of a jump from the stock exhaust to warrant it. Think I'll be waiting for Corksport, or someone to produce a 2.5" or larger...
