Hey all, i just wanted to share with you some pics of the install i did last weekend. PS2 Slim in the glove box with wireless controllers. DV-M3 flip up lcd and a HK-DP for ipod intergration. It all works great. PS2 does not skip at all while playing games or watching DVD's while driving.

I'm glad you all like the set up!...No photo shop, it is in fact the Drive+Play, I had to dremel out the spot for it, in order to make it flush. The red part is the LCD Ribon that sticks out a little, but i dont mind since it barely shows and glows orange like the rest of the lights at night. There is a walk-thru on ************ on how to do this. And it works great!...Had too many broken windows around here, thieves stealing mounted GPS, or anything that resembles one, wich is why i went with this install option. Oh i got the whole set up, screen, control nob and the brains unit wich is stuffed next to the shifter inside the center console, for like $20.00

I love the fact that it looks stock to the untrained eye.

If you didn't have a nav, are you able to do that, too? I have a non-Bose Sport, so no nav option for me. How would that work in that situation?

A++ on everything from iPod integration to PS2 install! Any plans on integrating a Garmin/Tom Tom GPS onto that screen? :)

Naddie, i don't have the Nav, not yet that is. I do plan on getting the Garmin GVN-53 GPS for Navigation. Absolutedly!, you can do the install on the Drive+ Play for the Ipod. It has nothing to do with the NAV or Screen. However, the Drive+Play has an aux in wich i'm using to get the PS2 Slim's audio out to the car's speakers. You can install the D+P to your car's audio through the Aux input on the Center console and if you don't have one, search for the auxmod basic!...let me know if you have any ?'s

Where did you get OEM-looking pop-up screen? If I can just get THAT, my imagination will go hog wild. I'm thinking custom Garmin-integrated GPS, or even a car PC. :) ....... one day....

very sweet setup. If for some reason my dvd ever fail me, I'll replace it with a slim ps3 (if any) =p great setup!

Thnanks guys!.. Check it out. Do a Google search and look up the OTHER MAZDA3 FORUM! look up the ELECTRONIC,NAV ETC...SECTION. i found a group buy there for this pop up monitor. Also, do a google search for " MAZDA 3 POP UP LCD" and i think they even have some on e-bay. You can definatedly find people on the OTHER forum who have connected a car pc and garmin to this monitor!

Hi Eltico ;)
Here are the answers to your questions.

1- Where did your power the GVN-53?
I was able the red, yellow and black cables to the power behind my car radio.

2- Do you have any pics?
Yes! I will send you pics of both the monitor and the GVN-53

3- Which antenna did you use for the XM?
GXM-30 Garmin.

4- Where did you put the antenna?
It sits on my back Dash. i'll add pics how it looks in the car tonight ;)

5- How does it work?
The GXM 3 hooks up to the GVN 53 and the entire screen options appear on the monitor. The GVN53
works with a remote control. Pictures later also ;)

6- How does the GVN53 hook up to the monitor?
The GVN53 hooks up to monitor with a video RCA cable.

7- Where did you get the $50 touch screen overlay?
Purchased it on ebay from a guy who no longer sells them.

8- Will the touch screen work with the GVN 53?
No, The GVN 53 is design to work with it's remote control. The remote is great and there is no reason to have a touch screen. I never installed the touch screen overlay since I have no need for it.

more questions? ;):D

as cool as this is (and you really did a nice job) why do you need a video game console in your car? I'm probably the wrong guy to ask this since I've got an indash nav (pioneer avic d3) that I occasionally use to watch (more like listen and occasionally watch) movies/tv shows/etc on while I'm driving... but video games are a completely different animal. I suppose if you're driving people around a lot that's one thing. but from what I see, only the passenger would have a chance at seeing the screen clearly enough. But either way, if you've put all this time and money into hookin up your ride with a ps2 just so your passengers can be entertained while you drive em around then... well, you're a much better man than I.

Last night I had problems with the web site :s
Well, the pictures and ideas are here, XM antena, XM screen, Navigation box in the back and DVD Player in the glove compartment.
