I myself like each in their own respective way, the PS2 controller does fit a bit better in your hand, but the upper controls(L1, L2, R1, R2) can get confusing, where as the X-box controller isn't as small in ur hands, it fits there nicely, and I have smaller hands, and it's also a bit more siplistic, no hidden controls except the triggers, which allow for the sensitivity(works great for the throttle/brake function in most racing games, speed of walking, speed of rounds being squeezed off etc), there are only a few things I desire about the ps2, thats a few of the exclusive sony games, and the ability to use the DVD function without a playback kit, and being able to read burnt CD's, but the x-box can be modded for that, and once you do that, you can get all those desireable things about the PS2 for it. Overall, if you have a moderatly good TV(something colour..thats about the only requirements really..well, a clear picture I suppose) and you will notice the X-box is much better(mostly), and you will be able to fully enjoy it. I hook mine up with the video in its port, and then have the sound hooked into my really loud stereo, with some auxilary surround speakers...it sounds better then life sometimes I'm telling ya man..nothing like feeling like you are insided the Enzo ferrari, as your house rumbles, and the sweat pours down your face, and you go 200mph on the Nureburgen(I just butchered that spelling) track....ahh, to be a video game freak again..I don't play too often, usually only with friends(in person), and mostly when I'm drinking. But yeah, X-box is by far the better console over all, unless yo have hands the size of a 2 year old girl..and even then it can be worked with..but the new model controllers do kinda suck, but you can pick up the old school ones used(really cheap), and they are better.
