As soon as a date is set, I can start making plans for the road trip!!

Right now we are working on getting a good location and a date. Hopefully we could set the date back far enough so everyone from out of state doesn't have to make any last minute plans.

let me say again..

Hey there, whats goin on guys. I my self would love attend but its a bit too far, also dont like putting that many miles on a car that quick. So, my question to you is, I'm wanting to put one on here in the midwest(missouri/illinois area, maybe Gateway International, who knows), what all does it take to get this kinda thing rolling and what kind of support will i get if any? I was planning on going to the one last year with my buddies msp, but unfortunately had a death in the family. So maybe within the next year to year and a half I can get one going. I've talked to a couple of mazda dealerships in my area and they said that they would love to help but I dont know where to take it from there. I dont want to screw this up because it would be awesome to host. So if anyone can provide any info as how to do this, I would be extremely grateful for your help. Also, anyone willing to attend, just post so i can get a feel as to how many people want this. I feel I am way over my head here due to the fact that I have never done ANYTHING LIKE THIS, HELP IS VERY MUCH NEEDED! (poke)

An event like this takes alot of dedicaton from a team of very devoted people. Its alot of work and very time consuming to get everything together, but its well worth it in the end to have a event go well like this one did. We never imagined in the begging that we would have the vendor, community, magazines, and Mazda NA's support the club event like they have, and will be...
Basicially you just need to have your s*** together, and a concrete idea of what you want the event to be. Then you can present that to everyone else, and hope they bite. I couldnt put an event like this on without the b0d and the members.

Any chance my date question could be answered? I don't need it dead on, just an idea.

Just don't make it in mid April... I'll be on my honeymoon and I would hate to miss this. he he

we dont have that answered yet, but it will probably be around the same time as last year. End of april-may.

Yes, Protegefest 2!!!! I'll be there. Anything closer than Barona would be sweet. And if it's a track/autocross course that would rock even more.
I just wanted to add that price is a huge factor in picking the location. We are looking into a location big enough to house the event while keeping costs down. There is a minimal amount of profit made and all of it goes towards running our club and our events, to include the next protegefest. We are working to please everyone, as everyone agrees they'd rather autocross than drag. Don't worry, I have confidence in the MOCC BoD, and I must comend their profressionalism in most aspects.

For now we just need a pretty good head count so we could get things in order.

Thanks for the comments Ricky. In reality it would be nice for ANY profit to go to MOCC but its really rare that we make much from the donations. Most of the time we break even,

we need another forum with people that plan on attending....

1. thejohnny +3 (Fiance and two boys) - as long as it's southern Cali.
2. AT LEAST 100 MORE PEOPLE WILL BE THERE.

This way you can get an idea on how much money you will have to rent out a facility.... I have no idea, you guys and gals are the experts... I'm just here to show up and drive.

Well if I make a road trip from GA, there will have to be a stop in a little town called Las Vegas.

I've never been west of Texas and this may be the only time in my life that I'll get to drive cross country. Something I think everyone should do.(I may be singing a different tune after I do it)

I think it's safe to say that if I drive out I will have come from the farthest away.

Definately check out Vegas! You might as well while you're down here. Maybe once we get a date and location set, the Las Vegas area people could set up a caravan to cruise the strip, then head on out.
