Protege5 stock Dyno

na....a friend of mine dyno'ed in 3rd with his P5 and got 114 whp. and thats with i/h/e/& no cats. Ive never known people to dyno in 4th.....everyone i go to its in 3rd.

I just got a PM back from the dyno guy...maybe I'll go back one more time...

"Just because of the walking problems we had early on. but once we got it strapped down the second way, we would've been fine making a 4th gear pull... They'd make more power in 4th, so if you want to bring them back by we can redyno them for the same price you paid at the event

You simply dyno in higher gears so you can get a broader data range, this becomes more apparent in more powerful cars. Numbers really don't mean much.

I think I'll go back and give it another shot regardless. Was on old oil anyway, and it's fun! :)

My buddy's civic dyno was around 125 atw...my prot. was around 111....the thing is, I tear him up when ever we race, so it must be the curve

That's because you're referring to peak only. What matters is having a broad power band, not a narrow window. Also torque is what makes the car move.

Yep, I raced a 7th gen EX 5spd on the way home, from 80-110 I put 2 on his ass. We went 3 times, same result.
