Hey guys, new user to the forum!
I have recently completed an overhaul on my stock Protege5 rims. I have owned this car since 02 and over the years the rims themselves began to deteriorate to the point where I just had to do something. As I work in a CNC Machine Shop I had access to a Sandblaster. Doing some basic research I decided to Sandblast my existing rims (1 to start just to see how it goes). After the first rim coming out better than I could have ever imagined, I continued the process with the other three rims. It took me a bit of time, but I finished and am extremely happy with how it turned out. I must add that I was looking into professionals to do this job, but after some places quoted me at over $250 per rim (de-grease, wash, sandblast, prime, paint), I decided I should just do it myself.
Here is how it all turned out. Sorry that the pictures are not in order but you can get the idea of where I started from, during the process, and the end result. Hope you guys enjoy. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I am more than happy to give out any advice and/or pointers that I learned through the process.
