Protege5 insurance

The funny part is, I was originally gonna buy a mazdaspeed, But the payments were too high. The insurance was about $40. a month CHEAPER?? If they are classing a P5 as a sports car, why is the mazdaspeed cheaper.

dude, thats messed up, the mazdaspeed has a turbo, that should put it into a bracket for insane insurance rates, thats how it was when i was looking into an SRT4, which got quoted for me at just shy of $6K Canadian/year

My rates just went "down" for being a "GOOD DRIVER"... in other words I had 2 points against me and now they are off the books.
My rates went from $624.00 for 6 months to $487.00 !!

I'm 47 years of age and my car is written up simply as a 4-door.

HardCard.

PS. The BAD news is that I just received my California Car Registration.........$350.00 a year. OUCH!

I'm 46, and my insurance is $940 per year. The car sit's in the garage most of the time. I've had it for 14 months, and hasn't hit the 12,000 mile mark yet!

wow I thought mine was already low..

Well I'm paying 5500 CDN with my insurance.
I am 21 and no speeding tickets nor accident at fault.

Man this is too much....way too much.....

:'(

You sure it's 4495$ CAD??
My friend drives a prelude, he's 19 and has had a few accidents and his insurance is somethign like 2700$ CAD

yep, thats with $1000 deductable, $500 deductable is $4750, and what really pisses me off is Im planning on selling my Neon, which I pay 2800/year for, to my sister, 16, just got her liscence, and she'll probably be paying about 1/3 of what i did for it.

Crazy.

By the way, which color are you going to buy? Because apparently, they'll charge you for more if you car is red, since that it is scientifically proven that the color red will make you have the urge to speed.

go to sterling agencies in sun toyota on whyte avenue and ask what your insurance would be through Allianz. Thats where i was through and as far as edmonton insurers goes it was the cheapest i could find!!! check it out and let me know what they say!!!

False. Insurance companies classify it as a station wagon. Your getting ripped off then.

Well not mine, I'm still in the process of fighting this. But for now thats the rate I pay.

That may have something to do with my high rates. I have red, but how much would they add for that?

they didnt ask me what colour i was getting when i got my quote, after they gave it to me I asked if it makes a difference and was told it didnt

Does Alberta have public insurance? I guess that 's why it's so high. BC is Gov't run insurance with the option of having your comprehensive private. I pay $980.00 a year and that's business insurance which is usually more expensive than normal driving to work insurance. Then again, I'm over 30! I guess that's makes a difference. You should move to BC!

yeah but then BC has higher taxes, and besides I work for Telus, and right now, Telus aint exactly popular in BC :(

Yesterday I was just yapping with this one guy at work and turns out the bastard had gotten himself a P5 about a month ago. 23 and married and he's paying about 1200/year, but he didnt put any money down, so he's paying $600/month in car payments though.

He's with ING Novex, is anyone else with that company?

WOW...I'm glad I don't live there. In Maryland it is $70 every 2 years. Large trucks with a higher GVWR are slightly higher.

That's the reason why I didn't get a Mustang GT... They quoted me $8k/year USD. 2 pts, 23 years old...

The MP5 is going to run me close to $1800/year if I can swing it. :(

I'm not sure how it works in Canada with VINs but through my VIN, Progressive was able to determine that I had a red car and everything else about it...

I have 3 tickets on my record...the good thing is that they all fall of in 2004...My wife and I pay 88.00 a month for coverage.....that is through State Farm.
