Ebay always has obx headers for around $200 including shipping. I did my homework a while back and i think the obx headers have both oxygen sensor mounts so you don't have to trust a local welder to put the second one on if you can't weld.

So its just a straight up bolt on installation? yah ken came through for me, man...awesome...this god damn Mod bug has bitten me hard...630$ in the past 2 days on exhaust, springs, Spoiler and a header...who knows whats next pay daymarshmallow said:

at checkers auto parts i think it cost about 40 something for a pair but they had several discounts that made it about 30ish? so 3 sets were about 90-100. i'm not sure if ya want silverstars because its known to blow out really fast on our cars for some reason. i dont do alot of night driving so i cant say. i do know that sylvania has a warranty on the bulbs and if it burns out within a year or two, ya can take it to auto store and get it replaced? i read about that one another thread cause people didnt know about the warranty.
if i had a choice, i'd get PIAAs because they seem really good plus some people like it but its expensive. ya can do ebay lights but ya gotta watch the wattage. ya dont want to get too high wattage or else it'll burn ur harness unless u upgrade xD

Im a newbie to the site, just joined this morning. Been here many times looking for answers and all you guys had them and im hoping you have one here to. I have an 03 protege5 with OBX headers. I love them to death. Problem is in cali i got hit by the cops and they popped my hood. To make a long story short they smoged my car and i passed the noise compliance but i failed smog because i dont have the cat converter. Any ideas or helpful hints. If i posted this in the wrong thread im sorry

Can just defouler or O2 trick it...They do a visual inspection in CA, and you don't pass with a header, even with no CEL....So your only option is to go back to stock exhaust manifold, pass testings, then re-install the header..and hope you don't get pulled over and inspected again.

Thank you guys for all the posts on this. This morning when i went to the state referee i knew that were doing an inspection plus the smog check. Something told me that i would have to put the stock headers back on and then get it re-tested. How hard is the stock header install to do? I had muffler tech so the OBX install and i think it was like $240 for them to install them.

Well, if you didn't do it the first time, I would say, you may not want to do it the second/third times...Personally, I think it is easy, but your level of mechanical ability is what is in question, not the difficulty of the instal..
In terms of things.... It is harder than installing a short-shifter or cat-back exhaust, easier than installing an intake manifold or struts/springs
