Hello! I have a 2002 Mazda Protege ES. Problem: When I pour water into the cowl grille, it leaks into the passenger floor. I have taken back the floors and took out the foam like insulation due to rot. In doing so I noticed a small crack on the right corner of the floor of the car (seems to be where body and floor meet?), where the water is flowing in. I put silicone sealant in the crack and thought that would fix the problem. Now the water is coming from just a little further left, behind a metal plate attached to the body/floor by bolts. The metal plate is raised from the body, I am unsure how to unattach it. The water takes several minutes to work its way from cowl to floor, but then comes in pretty steady once started. What can I do to find/fix the problem? Any ideas as to what may be causing this to happen? Any advice or ideas are appreciated. Thanks!
