Protege Track Day, anyone?

I assure you I wouldn't drive all three cars at one time...I am not that good. Whats the problem with bringing down multiple cars? I don't get much track time here and would love to love race my Taurus against some of these boosted MSP's.....wait a minute...the MSP isn't scared of a 1990 Taurus is it?!?!?

hehehe

My concern isn't which car you drive. My concern is that we are only allowed to have 20 cars registered for the event. If you register 3 cars, there's 2 other people who won't be able to enter plus that's an extra 200 dollars I have to cover for track fees. Now if there's one person registered to each car, that's fine by me.

oh cool....well, Maybe I'll just bring 2 cars, besides it doesn't look like you're having a whole lot of interested people. I hope this turns out well though. I'd love to run some time trials with you guys. I'd love to get a good head to head of my civic against a boosted MSP.....the taurus wouldn't be a contest!!

Ok, well as long as we're on the topic of setting a date, what day of the week is best for everyone?

Ok, just an update. I've been talking to a few non-protege groups since it doesn't seem that interest in the Protege crowd is not all that high.

As for the tentative date, let's aim for February 14th or February 21st.

the 21st sounds better. I will have other obligations (k) on that feb 14th Valentines day type thingie.

I'm down... I wanna see what my car can do.... just let me know when and how much... is race fuel going to be availiable to us?

Ok, I want to have the 20 drivers set by around January 1st. That gives everyone some time to figure out their scedules a little better.

We are defenitely aimed for Feb. 21st. I'll be getting there early (with a couple of volunteers hopefully) to set up the track and tie down any last second loose ends. I'd like everyone to get there by 7:30-8:00am so we can tech each car, give everyone the whole safety spiel, give everyone a ride around the course, and be running by 9:00-9:30.

And Gainesville has several gas stations that carry 100+ octane in the area.

I'm down with that. Well it be ok if I don't have a MSP to come out? I'll see if the two guys I know with MSP well come. I know one well come but the other has a wierd work scheduel. But lets get that date nailed down and I well be there. This is going to be fun.

I'm not going to auto-x but I might be able to chill or volunteer...its also a great time to visit my old buddies in Gainesville.

Sure, you can come in another car. It seems we wont have 20 proteges to enter, so we'll just keep it among people we know. I don't want this to be a real competitive thing, mostly just to have fun. At least that seems to be the general consensus. If you guys want this to be a real event, let me know.

As for price. We're setting it at $100 to cover your entry fee and your lunch.

And if anyone wants to come and volunteer, that would be awesome. Just get with Cory or me and we'll give you some work to do. Don't worry, you'll still get a free lunch.

Scott, its a good thing we're doing this; im finally going to get off my ass and buy the s*** i wanted for my car.

X-drilled rotors, ion race springs, and new wheels (still deciding on which ones).

Edit* i also forgot to mention that i am ordering my helmet next week also.

( i have a sweet camel toe motorsports decal for the side of it.)

Also, i will be buying a couple 2 way radios for us to use.

BTW: i need ya'll opinons on wheels; i really want the black flix wheels but they are heavy or some rota circuit 10s in bronze. I am either looking at black or bronze wheels.

It has to be either one of those colors so it fits with my "big" plans in march for the car.
