Protege tech articles?

Interested in Protege tech articles?

I see a lot of questions and interest in learning many basics about engine, drivetrain, and suspension issues on this board. I would like to put together perhaps a weekly...or monthly (depending on the rate of response) article attempting to answer the questions, adding a little theory and history along the way to make it understandable to the rank newbie and, hopefully, still informative for the seasoned tuner.

Would you folks be interested in something like that?

I think I have a fair amount to share based on a lot of the topics I see in the forums, and I would rather do it here than through personal emails, phone calls, etc.

Not trying to come off as a know-it-all...I certainly don't. I am a dedicated student, as any successful racer is, and I am constantly learning what works and what doesn't.

If something like this is agreeable, I will try to put a first article with some basics together for next week.

i think this is a wonderful idea, glad to have you, and all of your info aboard!(rockon)

I think it's a great idea, but it has to be made absolutely certain that the info is good and 100% right. Bad info presented as expert truth is worse than none at all. I'm not trying to say that you don't know what you're talking about, just saying... a lot of people present information on this board and others as if it's the absolute truth and when it's presented confidently, people take it as a sure bet 100% thing when it may not be. In the end, sorry for beind so long-winded... just make sure that anything presented here is actually the 100% expert truth if it's going to be presented as some sort of official publication.

Welcome Lurch

I would certainly enjoy reading what you've got to say. I, as you, am fairly seasoned in tuning (been tweeking on cars for 25 years.) But, as you stated, you never know it all. Lifetime student... and proud of it! :D

The OBDII cars are really what interest me. They've come so far in ECU control, it's not funny. Learning how to decipher all of the data that one can collect via data logging is a full time job in itself.

Again, welcome. And please share some thoughts if you get a chance.....

Take care,
Jim
