it works pretty well. I tried it last night. it shifts nice and smoothly w/o using the clutch. :D

Anyone else tried it?

Yes, I find I can go from 1st to 2nd, 2nd - 3rd, 3rd - 4th really easy but If I try to go to fifth I end up grinding it a little so I use the clutch for fifth.

Yeah i've done it before in mine too....the 3rd-4th shifts are very smooth. It's definitely not like grip shifting my RX7's though. RWD trannies are much better because the shifter bolts right into the tranny and there is no linkage.

Yes, but you have to match the revs up just right. If you don't, it will not sound pretty.

Someone once told me that clutchless shifting was like catching a golfball with your teeth. It's possible, but if you mess up, it won't be pretty.

Yep that about sums it up right there...perfect analogy :)

I've done it successfully plenty of times.
But I hear your synchros don't like it.

I can go from 1st-5th w/no clutch and back down again.

There isn't any harm if you match the revs and are practiced

Yeah i do that too, upshift and downshift w/o clutch....but from 1st to 2nd is not that good, that change in ratio is wide...

Clutch? I wish. I was born with no legs! I have to make due with what I got. Don't be so insensitive!:)

Just kidding

there have been many diffrent opionons on shifting clutch-less
I have found that it isnt really any quicker than using the clutch and it isnt worth the wear on the driveline so for me I use the clutch it is still too quick for the reves to even drop so theres really no piont in slaming your already broke-ass proned transmision in to gear

but its a good thing to show off hehe

I've never tried doing it fast. I don't do it for speed reasons. Just to stave off commute boredom. I do it slow and smooth. I imagine slamming gears at high speed would have bad effects.

lmao...boy some people are being little bitches about the idea....

it's not the fact that we are lazy, it's just something to do!

get off myass...

my car is a toy. a big one, but nonetheless a toy. I can play with it however I choose. If I break it, fine. i'll fix it.

ive done it on accident and it scared me at first. then i kind of played with it and realized it was possible. crazy...
