Prosport boost gauge

I recently switched to Prosport gauges from my old Autometers and I wanna see what you guys have to say about their boost gauge.

I don't really believe a single reading off that damn thing. When I first got it installed, it read 4 psi of boost and 24-26 inHg vacuum at idle.. whereas my Autometer read 18-20 inHg at idle and 6 psi boost (like it's supposed to on the stock WGA). Also, with the car off and the key in Acc the Prosport reads 2 inHg, so I emailed them in hopes of figuring it out.

They sent me a new sender, but I still had the same problem. So they had me open it and recalibrate the sender. I got the needle to read 0 with the car off, but it still only read ~4-5 psi boost at WOT and 24 inHg at idle. I don't think these readings are accurate AT ALL!! I think the Autometer was much more accurate.

Anyone have any input?

KrayzieFox - I searched the forums quite a bit and decided on ProSport Premium Boost Gauge. I also followed the advice on a few threads and gave my sender a dedicated vac line. I am seeing @20 at idle and peak 6psi boost - which seems to be fairly common around here. I didn't get the Premium gauge for my EGT and i wish I did. The electronics in the Premium feel a bit more solid to me. Good luck with your problem.

are u running a dedicated line? is the gauge electric or mechanical? was the autometer?

i found that by runing my map sensor with a dedicated vac line that i got the most accurate readings. im currently running an electric autometer boost gauge

The Autometer was mechanical, the Prosport is electric. They both shared a dedicated line right off the vacuum block.

It doesn't seem to be an issue anymore though. I just installed the Turbolife FMIC and it now reads 6 psi at WOT like it's supposed to. I guess I had a leak somewhere that was preventing me from reaching full boost. For some reason the Autometer never picked it up though..
