I thought this would be an interesting idea for a thread... I've always wondered how to pronounce some of the more 'exotic' parts companies' names. You see them all the time on the internet and on paper, but only at meets and such do you hear them really pronounced and that is only so often for some of us. Tanabe, Megan, Tein... there are many more, but I've heard some pretty wild pronunciations of companies like this. Wierdest probably being a forum member saying greedy for GReddy.
Here's how I pronounce some of them:
Tanabe - Tan-uh-bee (I've heard Tuh-na-bee as well)
Megan - Meh-ghan (Also heard Mee-gin and just Megan [like the name])
Tein - Tine (Heard 'teen' too)
A'PEXI - Uh-pecs-ee
Konig - Koh-nig
Tial - Tye-uhl
Eibach - Eye-Bach/bock
Nitto - Nit-oh (I've heard Nee-toe)
And the same goes for mechanical terms... I've heard some wierd ones for that as well:
TMIC/FMIC - I spell it out or say everything (or just 'top mount/front mount')... but I've heard a select few just say t-mick.
Camber - Cam-burr (I've heard a lot of Caym-burr).
CBE/DP/MP/TP - I'll usually just say them; I.E: Cat-back, down pipe... ect.
So, how do you pronounce these companies and terms? Be sure to include more that I left out (I left out a lot of obvious [at least to me] ones).
