Projekt UFO manifold nearing completion

what size piping did you use for the first proto?
2" im guessing?

i might want to make one out of some cardboard for a mock up!

i really doubt he was using 2"

maybe 1 1/2" but the way he worded it made it seem like he went smaller diameter to achieve tighter bends.. i have never seen 2" runners on a manifold before i dont think

I think they are 1 1/2, I will have to ask Bob on that one. I think he meant to say 1 1/4 when I talked to him, but I doubt I am running 2 inch pipes.

i cant almost guarantee you arent too haha..

my dumptube for my wastegate is 1 3/4" and look at its size compared to the huge MAM runners.. its the same if not bigger

Well , here is an update. I have a friend/co worker that I'm going to slap a turbo on his P5. He has opted to go with a ProjektUFO manifold, I will keep the updates rolling as they come in. The manifold has been redesigned in some places, so the finished product should be awesome as my fabricator now has a bandsaw to produce better cuts on the pipe over the sawzall that was used on my car. The fitment and overall appearance should be top notch.

Still haven't gotten around to building one with a T-2 flange, but that will be the next big improvement for all you T25/T28 members.

You know, I think it is pretty close. The whole flange and collector assembly has been moved about a 1/2 inch to the driver side to gain clearance between the downpipe and the lower radiator hose. I also asked him to move the flange just about 1/4 inch further toward the radiator for the people who want the big boy turbo.

I also forgot to mention that I did one real quick dyno run at my buddies shop. I haven't retuned my SSAFC since I put the new manifold on, but I was able to dance right on the line of the 300 WHP number..........at only 11 psi.(humpleg)

so would this be usable with currently available exhausts, or would a full custom DP be required? Same question for hot pipe...

The whole end product is to be able to eventually marry the manifold with an available exhaust. At this point, I'm certain, due to still learning all the little intricacies, you will need a downpipe made up to marry to your exhaust. I'm sure when we get a final product that is going to be mass produced, we will offer a downpipe that will mate to an exhaust, if it is feasible for us to do.

that thing looks like a piece of s***. its cake battered and mig welded. id give it 1000 miles till it cracks and rusts thru since it seems to be mild steel

Ok man if you could read you would find in this thread that all of the bashing has been done, now if you could, please do not cludder this thread with your useless post!

Already seen 1000 miles, no rust no cracks. I hope that people keep hating on the prototype, because when their s*** breaks and I have an awesome product after all prototype and testing is finished, I will remember all the people who have bashed on this and make them go the OBX route.

I know that all too well, but the cynics will be wishing they hadn't bashed this product when they decide to upgrade.

There is your number. I am working on the video part of it as we speak.
