Project Black has Begun! - Colorado

OK...so since I picked up the mid pipe, I went ahead and ordered the Megan cat back (I will weld in an extra resonator), and the OBX header. I'm very excited. Below is an update on ProjectBlack so far.

Some Extras that have happened so far along the way...

Black Alteza tails.

Blacked out headlight mod.

Tinted side markers and corners (niteshade).

Smoked wind deflectors for all windows, and sun/moon roof.

Tinted windows, front and rear.

Red LED interior lighting.

If you don't want it loud, megan is NOT the way to go. I would give RB a try... sounds like it might be the quietest not stock muffler.

I know...I know...I just found a REALLY good deal on a brand new Megan. I'm going to add an additional resonator as well, so that will help.

Nice!

Sorry man, if you want to quiet it down, you'll need a muffler not a resonator. A resonator can help with tone and is mostly used to remove rasp.

Rasp is the most annoying part for me, and is usually the loudest part with the little 4 bangers. I can deal with a nice deep sound. We'll see, but I think the resonator will do the trick.

I found a guy on ebay for these with Falcon 205/40/17's mounted, balanced, and including black lugs for $938.80 shipped. It is through MAK's Tire & Wheel 224-587-9255 makstire@gmail.com.

These are direct bolt on...no spacers or anything, and they really shouldn't rub at all unless you are dumped real low. They are +40 offset. I only plan on a 1" drop with a Tokico system that comes with the Illumina adjustables and springs.

anyone know? whats better, 205/40/17's or 215/40/17's ?

I personally like the look of 205/40, but 215 just gives you a hair more width put to the road, but I think it makes the sidewall look too big. I'm all about havin rubber bands on my wheels. IIRC the 205 and 215 means the tire is 205 or 215mm wide. I've had both and I hated 215's

I'm no expert, but if 215's are wider you might risk rubbing a little. That's a 10mm difference in width. You can always roll the fenders with a baseball bat!!!

Wow! I went to the dealer this week to get a new set of bolts for my header, and I saw the new Mazdaspeed 3. That's a hot looking car! Almost STI hatch looking with half the horse power, and half the price tag! LOL!

My buddy has one, they are quick, they match the STI in everything except the slalomn only because the STI is 4 wheel drive but!!! He said that either the 2012 or 2013's Mazdaspeed's are rumoured to be 4 wheeldrive ;)
