Product Alert: Carbotech has just started making front brake pads for the MSP! WHOOOO

Our good friends at Carbotech have opened the doors that the punks at Hawk, EBC and others didn't think was important enough.

Matt, talk Mr. Narcus into a really nice group buy for us and you'll have a bunch of off the bat orders to justify the line. Vendor support goes really far in this community, especially from the autocrossers who really need products we can depend on.

Hey MattN,
Will the pads come with all the pins, clips, and shims that the stock pads come with?
Can you post all the part numbers for the front and rear pads for the MSP?

I am in the market for some new pads to go with my new cryo treated and slotted front rotors?

OK, part numbers:
F: CT755-XX
R: CT332-XX

(XX=friction material. Bobcat, P+, XP8, etc.)

The Bobcat pads will come with wear sensors, but not shims. You can reuse the shims off of your OE pads. The track compounds (P+, XP8, etc) do NOT come with wear sensors. They are track/race materials and are not for street use (although you can easily drive them to/from the track). Honestly, the track materials make some noise and you probably wouldn't hear teh wear sensors anyway...

Please do try and set up a group buy on the bobcats...Also, did I miss it or is there nothing for the rear brakes yet?

Thanks for posting this!!!

Is there a rotor that would be a good match for these pads? I would like to do a rotor and pad swap at the sametime.

How about this:

According to my book, it's the 13B RX7 rear fitment (84-85 GSL-SE, and all 2nd and 3rd gen).

or this:

OK, part numbers:
F: CT755-XX
R: CT332-XX
(XX=friction material. Bobcat, P+, XP8, etc.)

Is there a rotor that would be a good match for these pads?

Any rotor would be fine, as long as it's in good shape and not grooved up from a previous pad.

OK...I plan to run in no more than 2 or 3 lapping sessions this year. Most of my driving will be back and forth to work and then autocross twice or so per month.

What I'm thinking is to use the Bobcat F&R pads for street and autocross, and change out the front pads to Panther + for track events. Make sense? Will I have problems with bedding the pads/rotors switching back and forth?

Matt, sorry but what exactly is the XX in the P/N? Is it 1106 for the Panther + and 1521 for Bobcat? I am travelling internationally now and for the next 9 days, but I will call you as soon as it is convenient.

Peace...(hippy)

If you want Bobcats, the part number is CT755-Bob. If you want Panther plus, it's CT755-P+, if you want XP8, it's CT755-XP8 and so on, and so on....

I swap out Bobcat and our track pads (usually XP9 or XP10) all the time on the same rotors. No real problem. Take a couple of days of normal driving to re-establish a transfer layer of material for optimum braking. No biggie.

Hey Matt, whats up? This sure is a funny place to bump into you! Thanks for letting me borrow your air tank at VIR, say hey to Larry.

Thanks Matt! Should I call the number on the website to place an order during the day?
