Pro5s in NYC?

Hi I'm pretty new to this community but not to the scene - I'm actually a member of TOprotege.com in Toronto Canada.

However, I'm planning on moving to New York in May04 and would like to know if there are any people on this board that holla from the Big Apple?

I've been to NYC numerous times but in Manhattan I have yet to see a Protege5 - just a bunch of panel vans, Benz', Lexus', and BMWs. Do imports not exist in Mahattan? When I move there I will be staying in either Astoria or Long Island. Will I have Mazda club mates in these areas?

I'd also like to express my concern for theft - should I be worried about my car being stolen or broken into? I've got Sparco seats, 7'' screen, PS2, 19'' rims, body kit, etc. Will I be a target and will my car's chances of being ***** be high? I've got a Compustar 2way pager but I'm still a bit worried. Is NYC that bad for car theft?

10 minutes outside the city n Westchester,

theft is a concern anywhere, depends what part of NYC you going to...common sense is your best friend, park near other cars, turn wheels into the direction of the curb and lock your steering wheel, use club or other device, well illuminated streets.

bottom line, if they want it bad enough, they gonna get it...

Oh yeah... Make sure you'll have a garage or at least a guarder parking lot... especially with all the s*** you jave in the car...

Scores is expensive... and unless you carry a fat wallet girls are snobs... beautiful but snobs...

I'd rather get a flight to Toronto, go to the clubs there and then get the flight back... and I'll still get more for my money...

Yes the strip joints up in the T-dot are off the hook. My club mates and I regular make trips to the "office' for meetings. It's damn fun - our female members come out too and I think they like it more than the guys do - they spend time up on stage too! Coronas flow (a la Fast and the Furious) the asses shake with the fury of a V-Tec cam profile, and the strippers can't help but love us (yeah we drop a lot of chedda).

It's pretty cool to look outside into the strip clubs parking lot to see 30 Protege5s all parked in a row - guess that makes us all perverts - oh well!

Anyway "I love New York". I visit quite often because of work but stay downtown at Herrald Square (34th and Broadway) in a company condo unit. As a matter of fact I'll be in NYC Oct 6 - 12.

Oh another concern about NYC. How the hell do you drive a lowered car in the city?! The streets are so NASTY! I have a feeling that my dumped and kitted ride is going to look like s*** after 1 week!

I don't know about you but I would move to Toronto if only Toronto could offer me similar jobs... the strip joints and the massage parlors you have are out of this world....

Lowered in NYC... you better think twice... mine is stock and I cringe at the potholes...

No-one owns a decent car in NYC (Manhattan) unless it's garaged. Alternate side of the street parking and bangers from the fron and rear will make you nuts. I lived there for alot of years.
