If you blink really quick and look away you will see the afterimage of the dots. Only the afterimage is green.

Here is how it works. When you stare at the sun and close your eyes or blink you see the afterimage.

This illusion works by making the afterimage (which appears several seconds after you stare at something) the complementary color of the pink.

The pink is the exact opposite of the green, so when you combine the pink and green you get gray, the same gray as the screen.

So, the afterimage and the image combine to make gray, giving the illusion that the pink dots disappear.
