Power Mirrors in the Winter

Yes it happened to my 1998 Honda CR-V once when it was parked on the street in front of our house. The street is at least 4-car wide.

If my CX-5 had the power folding mirrors, I simply just keep them in manual mode, and fold them as I feel like it by turning the switch. If I had a Lexus RX like many of our friends do, I’ll leave them in auto folding mode as none of them is having issues with so many times of auto folding.

I disabled the auto-fold when mine stopped working (to prevent any further damage that might be occurring) and the dealership re-enabled it when I got the car back.

I might do the same thing.. but then my question is - even if I do it myself by using the manual switch, (cuz, I will do it every time I park in a parking lot), will that wear the switch out quicker?

I guess it'd be cheaper and easier to replace a door switch than it would mirror motors out of warranty.

Or the cheapest and easiest solution is to pick a parking spot where you don't feel the need to fold the mirrors in every time.

Is the auto turn off in the settings within the infotainment center

The process is described in your Owner's Manual: http://www.mazda.ca/en/digital-owners-manual/2020/cx-5/contents/04060101.html

With the car off, press the Engine Start button once without depressing the brake pedal to put the car in ACC mode.

Make sure the power window lock is not enabled, then press and hold the front passenger's power window switch and rear left/right power window switches on the driver's door at the same time for 3 seconds or longer.

Sometimes that's not entirely possible at all at an almost completely full parking lot.

I always tend to park away from the crowd in less-populated parking spots, but that's not always possible either.
