Power Hesitation when shifting into 3rd?

Finally took the weight off the shifter linkage at the trans last weekend. Personally I like it, not a huge difference, but as eng said it helps with the 2-3 shift and haven't missed that gear change since, that alone is worth it to me

Is that the little weight thats exposed once you get the stock air box out of the way? I noticed on the 08's is silver but on my 08.5 its black, I wonder if they made any changes to it.

Wow I'm gonna have one hell of a time if my first manual car is an MS3. The last manual I drove was a Mitsubishi Eclipse GTX... for about 1 hour... about 6 or 7 years ago!

Its pretty touchy but its not really a tough car to drive it just takes some getting used to. now an 80s eagle station wagon you need 2 hands to shift in winter would be a pain.

I don't think its tougher, its just a lot more picky. The average manual driver could easily pick up an MS3 and drive it daily without having stalling. Its just a matter of being able to drive it smoothly that takes longer in this car than any other. But like others have said, I think the whole 2nd to 3rd thing is purely on the way you're shifting. I've developed this weird grip I guess... I use my index, middle and thumb and basically grip the top of the shifter as if gripping a 2 seam fastball. With barely any strength I just guide it into third and it just gets sucked it.

Hard to drive smooth, easy to drive fast. Snap shifts are easier in this car than anything else I've driven so far.
