Power Door Locks Failing

Over the past 2-3 months I've had 3 of the power door locks fail on my 08 CX-9. They would kind of work sometimes, and then over time they have just stopped working. With the drivers door I can open it manually from the outside with the key, but it won't work with either the remote or the button on the inside. The other two doors have just completely given up and they have to be unlocked manually from the inside.

I can hear some noises coming from the drivers door at least, the others I can't tell if the actuator is trying to work or not.

I've taken the door panels off all the doors and I can't tell what's going on.

Has anyone had any problems with this before? If I need to replace the actuators they don't look like they are in the most convenient location to get to. It's just all too weird to me that three doors have failed in such a short period of time.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can't say this is common, however, I noticed the other day that my right rear door lock is whining a little bit when it locks. Sound like you just have to start replacing actuators.

I figured by the lack of responses that this may not be a very common problem. Although you may want to watch the door that is whining to make sure it is getting locked, that was the beginning of the end for mine.

Does anyone have any experience with changing out the actuators themselves? They don't appear to be in a very convenient location. I've found some online and they did not seem very expensive, I'd just like to avoid paying a mechanic/dealer for labor.

When you have problems with multiple doors, the chance of failure in BCM (body control module) is higher than actuators.
Obviously, your CX9 is out of warranty by now. If I were you, I would buy ONE actuator and start to replace them one at a time
to see if this fixes problem with that door. If not, the problem could be the BCM instead.
BCM is located inside the kick panel of driver's side.
