Honda-Eater u must have a huge population of msps in ur area. All of last year i saw 1 msp thats excluding meets. I never see them on the road, well besides mine. I see evos and stis all the time. You go to ur nearest starbucks or barnes and nobles and ull find one there.
And Im assuming ur making some good money. Because maitence(spelling?) on those things are not cheap. But if u got the dough all the power to you, they do look sexy as hell.

It's not like I only want an Evo, because I'm considering a mazdaspeed 3 also. Either way, in my area there are not alot of higher-end sport compacts or cars like Evo, STI and such. The people that have money here buy Lexus and BMW etc.. I just want something that is fun to drive w/ out needing to be modded so much, you know ?

On the Top Gear track the Evo8 was only 2 seconds faster then the STI Which isnt much to me.

The Numbers of weight vs HP is almost the same aswell. But i never hear a STI break down I usually hear more of a EVO.

I do Love the EVO, but i dont like hearing aobut them breaking as much as i do, and from what i hear around the STi is more reliable.

Eaither way, a GT-R is better. LOL

Every review I read put the Evo above the STI, all of them. And also, a 2 second win in a race is plenty.
GT-R is sick, damn. Nissans are my heart man...

You guys, I'm not really ragging that hard on these cars....I have one, remember ? What I am saying is that there are other cars that are faster out of the box, and have a higher build quality than our MSP's. And I want one... I want to be able to do full exhaust and a tune on something, and have it be fun to drive w/ just those mods. There's no reason why someone should have to spend a ton of $ on a car to get it to be fast. People keep saying that there's so much value in individualism, and guess what...I see a assload of MSP's around here, it's absurd, so I know what you mean..

Doesnt matter what car you drive...this combination in a fwd unless your running around on slicks is "spin city"

You can't expect that much out of a car that was designed for drivability.

Right now the only thing that my car has is a big turbo with a manifold and an exhaust. It has plenty of gusto.

First of all, your car is all business...especially if you're racing Gallardos, haha. That thing is nice, nice job. The reason I'm "sweating an Evo" is because it's my personal preference as to what I spend my $30,000 on. I like how they look, they're fast right out-of-the-box, good aftermarket support...AWD. That's why, I can't speak for others though.

This protege is a economy family car, sporting a turbo and rims. I want a true enthusiast car. Another good reason is, I don't want this FWD car to have much more power, torque steer is a b**** already. FWD cars were not meant to have power like this. It's great that you want to be away from the "bunch", but If I want a certain car and it happens that many others have that car...I don't care, I'm getting it for me. The same god damn day I registered my MSP, I was out driving to the wash and in 20 minutes I saw 3 other MSP's.....I wanted to freak the **** out. I see an Evo maybe once a month around here, so speak for yourself about "apart from the bunch".

It's funny how people rag on the type of car another wants. I'm glad you love your 500hp Protege..you kinda have no choice after spending the money you have spent on it...correct ? In my eyes, any year Evo is better looking, and better performing than the MSP. That's enough reason for me but I could go on. Don't get me wrong, I like my MSP etc..but I want something else man..

I understand you man, what i meant with another from the bunch means, at least In Miami where i used to live, i was tired of seeing fast, very fast Lancers, Very Fast STI's, very fast SRT-4's and hell of fast Honda's, i was not talking about being another from the bunch Protege owner, so hope you and people here didn't got me in the wrong way. Down south in Miami you see the cars mentioned above in every corner, so i felt i didn't want to own a car every single daddy's boy teenager has, i respect your opinion about the EVO being better than the MSP, that's no doubt, but you also have to take into consideration the price difference between them, how much is an Evo MR New ? 40K, 46K Stock with 280 HP ? how much is an MSP 20k when they came out, with 170 HP right? well that's a difference between 20-26k if we talk about money, well any and i mean Any 20k worth car with another 20-26k on it will be infinite better than an 40-46K stock Evo HondaEat-R, i mean is cool that you love the Lancers, i'm cool with that and not Ragging on anybody here, but there are also people like me that thinks that The Lancer are too Expensive for what they are, and with the same total amount of money you can make any car better than and the Evo. I mean you can buy what ever car you want man, is not my money you know, i was just giving you my opinion on something simple like adding a bigger this, a little bigger that to compensate what you think is not working on your car, I'm very happy that i'm seeing more people not giving up on the Proteges, people putting mad effort on a car that is not that bad when you spend some descent money on it, I ain't Rich you know, i got a line of credit from my business and did everything i did to my car little by little including paying off the car as well i know not everybody can't spend that much on a car but i also know not everybody can buy a 40-46k worth car and if you ask me i prefer to buy a 20k car and add another 20k but i know is going to be better in every single aspect and the way i like than spending 40k on a stock car, good luck with your MSP and with your future EVO, no hard feelings in this side of the screen bro..

any car can break at any time, nobody is safe from that, but if you do it good from the first time and do things right, or take the car to the right place i bet you have a lot less chance of your car to break or your engine to blow.

I appreciate your input on this man your msp is one of te fastest out there, and its because of your msp that i didnt give up on mine, i want to one day break that 400+Hp mark lol.. but I know it takes hard work and even more cash but im taking baby steps Lol.. one thing at a time.

That's the way to think, I didn't do all of the stuff at once, i did it by stages and the main thing i did i believed in what i wanted and didn't let anybody to trash my ideas and dreams, any 400-500 HP car cost money, you are not going to have a 400 HP with just $2000, even you buy an evo, you need more than that, but hey this is a forum full of heads that don't think the same way, and that's the nice thing about it, to share. But if you ask me personally what do you prefer to get a 40k Car or buy a half price one and add 20k on it and make it your way i'll do it again with my eyes closed. i know i might look and sound crazy to spend the money i did on mine. but when i see my friend Harold that bought back at 2007 a EVO MR fully loaded for 45k and after few races we've done he have said, HOW THE ****,,,, i say yes HOW THE **** if we have spend the same amount of money.. well i leave the rest for you think why the **** !!!! lol..

I agree and Lol.. dont get me wrong but there is also alot of fast evos out there and thats not taking into consideration they have way more aftermarket support than us. Is your friends evo modded at all?

Few stuff done, but hey we are talking about same amount of money, We both have spend around 47k, you get my point ? i know if you trow money on a EVO you can make way more power than any MSP on the planet, but how much did you had to invest just to get the car ? you get the idea... both of US side by side, same amount of money my friend Harold knows he have nothing to do against my yes PROTEGE...
