Wow....7G's...that s*** better have like 300hp at least and 5G's for a paint job....that's 12G's on a 99. No offense Bro but I'd use 12G's elsewhere. Honestly for me to spend any money on a car it's gotta be close to mint , let alone that much. More power to ya.

man i just had my car resprayed in PPG paint, custom mixed the color so that it was different than the factory color with more pearl. We sprayed 5 coats of clear on most body parts with wet sanding between some coats to make the paint appear deeper. Also had one of the best in the area come to the shop and wet sand and buff the complete car once it was finished with 3m compounds and pads( i paid for the 3m system) and it was no where near 5300... that's including making 2 new rear quarters and welding them in, shaving the rear door, and a few other rust patches..

I hope the 5300 you are getting a top notch paint job..

I cant say I'd be any different after going through everything i have with my current Mazda. But wish you all the best in what you want to do

Damn...I don't think I can get anything like that here in Calgary. Well, maybe.

But if anyone's interested..I got a s*** load of brand new parts that I'm selling off. PM me :)

rep... i know youve heard it more than 100 times... but i like it red also.

In the Texas sun, red is not the best idea for a number of reasons:
1) Red is the fastest fading color anyway, and here it can fade fast.
2) Red absorbs more sunlight than lighter colors and therefore gets hotter and makes the interior hotter as well.

Why do you think I bought a white car? Also, our house is white. The roof is white, etc, etc.....

lol all in good nature haha

and your right we dont get much sun here in pittsburgh so i never have to worry about sun soaking or fading LOL

I know. I moved here in '95 from Eastern Pa, and I had been to Pittsburgh a number of times as well.
The sun is a lot lower in the sky there than here. And when it gets hot, it stays hot for months at a time. Not like Pa weather.
You have the harsher winters, but we have the harsher summers. 100*+ for 5-6 months sometimes. Hell, I've been known to wear shorts and a t-shirt at Christmas time... on certain years, not every year!!

they have to strip the complete car of paint down to metal cause of surface rust? time to find a new car to paint or swap the work into.. if you have that much surface rust the unibody and underneath must be worst.
