Recently had an engine swap, here is the BP-ZE. Just had a phone cam on hand to see the BP-ZE just shipped from Japan with the valve cover popped, untouched and uncleaned as far as I can discern...until now:

Hey, new to the Mazda world. So I'm kinda walking about blind. I'll post pics when I get them on the computer. But for now, its a 96 Protege (of course) DX with 177k miles, 5spd tranny with a slight grind in 2nd. But I hope to make her my pride and joy some day.

Can anyone help me with some basic bolt on's I can get for now, and if you've boosted yours. Send me a list of your complete set up, so I have it down the road to reffer to?

Not exactly new here. Just haven't posted anything since I joined. I hang out mostly at clubprotege.com, same username if you want to look me up. Decided I want a BP swap with G-series tranny, possibly a turbo down the road. Full gray/black leather interior, black/silver panels, dash, etc. Two Alpine Type-R 10" subs with Alpine PDX-5 amp. I could go all night with what i want to do, but i won't waste your lives with my daydreaming. Anyway.....

The Details:
'98 Protege LX
Z5, automatic (sad1)
Removed fugly pinstripe
HID kit 8000K "Deep Blue"
Sanded, polished headlights, look brand new
Custom cold air intake
Breather filter
Bosch Platinum +4 plugs
Walmart hubcaps
JVC KDHDW10 headunit
Alpine Type-S 6.5" components front
Alpine Type-S 6x9" 3-ways rear
Replaced LX stickers with chrome letters
Painted Mazda emblem on steering wheel silver
(That's all for now. College started and I have no job so theres no extra money to put into it at the moment.)

The Pics:
(can post more if you wish)

What's up everyone, my name is Nikita. I'm originally from Russia.

Living in Maine now, United States, I have a Red 1993 Mazda Protege 1.8 5MT DX. I'll post pics as soon as I can un-bury it from the snow, and I look forward to being an active member of your community!

Well here's some pics, since I procrastinated taking them during the day, they are night pics lol. Honestly I don't know much about the protege's but hope to expand my knowledge here. I'm originally a Honda guy. Here's some shots of it. I'm pretty sure it's the 1.8L DX SOHC that I have. Correct me if I'm wrong, still fresh to the protege game :)

Hi, I'm not new to reading the forums but am absolutely new to posting. So let me introduce my car. I currently have a 98 protege lx touring with a bpt installed. The car drives good but not great. not to its full potential at least not yet. Currently being tuned by paul at neetronics in oakville, ont. I will post pics of the car when i get some and when i figure out how to. Please be patient cause my posts may be sporadic. Thanks.

Anthony, welcome.

And yes, it is from Autozone, but I have some 2.5" aluminum now. Just need to get it cut and welded. Same basic layout, so nothing real different, just smaller diameter.

If I could relocate my battery, fuse box, maybe coolant overflow, I'd make a really nice one, but I don't have the time, money or know-how at the moment for that. Has anyone done any of that before? Or maybe a how-to somewhere?

you can buy a cheap coolant resivour from auto zone. i did it with my 91 protege 1.8 sohc, dont remember why maybe to make room for intake but its easy to relocate on the bp
