I thought that I'd start this thread since I half-way promised to put up a web page to do this on but I never found the time to do it!
I think to start we should just post the top time in our class and our personal top time of the day and maybe the top time of the day. Any other information you feel would be helpful is good too.

Just got my Kumho Ecsta 712's to replace the worn Dunlops. Not a big fan of the tires yet and it shows. I'm not sure what the best inflation is on them yet. The best setup seems to be 41 Front 38 Rear. Times got much better on fun runs after playing with the pressures a bit more.

Getting more used to the Kumho Ecsta 712's. This day was a lottle warmer and a little higher pressure (42/39) worked best to give me a little oversteer on slight trailbraking. I'm starting to warm up to these tires now that they're more broken in, still seem just a slight step less grippy than the Dunlops. Top Time in Class was set by Acura Integra with Victoracer V700's. I'm right on his tail!

I need some race tires! I've come closer to the top guy before but he had a lot more grip on this course today with the V700's than my 712's. I got a lot closer to him in the fun runs, so I think my analysis and driving could have been better as well. I think I have a tendancy to brake to hard and not unwind the wheel quick enough on acceleration out of a turn, causing understeer and scrubbing off valuable seconds.

I know I'm going backwards here... This was the first auto cross of the season. I still had the Dunlops, but they were on their last legs. Very good competition at these races in the Bay Area. I felt very good coming in third here. The top two were racing on V700's.

First time ever doing an autocross. Weather conditions were very cold...around 5 degrees celsius, but dry.

Notes:
Weather conditions were quite cold again...around 3 or 4 degrees celsius, but this time it was wet....rained the entire time and pretty hard too. I was extremely disappointed in my driving despite being first of my class as I was finding myself too worried about spinouts.
 
I would post my results...

but my times are godawful compared to the top time in my class, what with running with stock potenzas and an automatic transmission.

and this season we have a Mini Cooper to really stir things up in our class (HS). That thing handles like it's on rails!!!!!

I'll post my times after I've gathered enough courage to post bad times :(
 
Don't be shy dude....autoX at least for me has been about learning how to drive better in what would really be an emergency situation. It lets me get to know my car a lot better in what it can and can't do. Nobody here is gonna care if you aren't the fastest driver...more important to get out there and have a blast!

This was the practice session before point events began. This was my 2nd event. Just from this event I can see the dominance of Mini Cooper in this class. Top 3 finishers in the class all drove Mini Coopers.

First point event of the season. Weather was a major factor. In the morning session it was mostly just cloudy and dry. Beginning the afternoon session and it began to rain. By the time I was running my first run the it was pouring and the track has been drenched. Tons of people went off course because of the rain, I went OC in my first 2 runs before I decided to slow down a bit and finally finished with 2 clean runs (slow nontheless :()

2nd point event. Weather was beautiful (sunny in the mid 70s all day). After having 3 events under my belt I could finally concentrate on the pre-run tuning and driving without all the admin stuff being a distraction. Apparently what I did with the tire pressures backfired because I was plowing all over the place, unable to turn the car around. All I hear is the potenzas screeching to death and car not turning losing speed coming out of an uphill sweeper turn. NOT GOOD :(.

Toward the end of the day they were offering fun runs, and I was able to get a ride with another Protege driver (the 01 ES that won the previous event in my class) that has R compound tires on. The difference was HUGE. He was able to make turns at speeds that, if it was in my Pro, I would've had a mouth full of cones at the finish line :eek: I have to seriously consider getting some R compounds so I don't understeer all over the place...

oh yeah, the Mini Cooper won my class, yet again :rolleyes:

I love the car, but now that it's warming up, I agree with everyone else that I need some race tires. I'm getting killed. I've considered running STS. I've been beating their times anyway, so I might be able to do induction and put in some adjustable camber plates to add a little more, but maybe next season. I wanna win GS in my region this year first. I am also strongly considering going to Nationals just to play. I know I'll get clobbered, and I even know the guy that will be up top (and he's very rude), but I still wanna play. :)
 
Great to see others posting their results! Don't be ashamed! Some of us compete in regions that are tougher than others. And some of us have a lot more competition to deal with than others. So it's all about doing the best you can and trying to get better as time goes on.

Here are my results from my recent trip to the Atwater National ProSolo.

ProSolo is autocross with a little twist. There are two "identical" courses set up in a mirrored configuration, one on the left, one on the right. There is a drag race style start with a tree. Your reaction time counts as does your 60 ft. time. This was a National level competition with drivers coming from a couple states a way to compete. My goal was to be within 2 seconds of the top time in my class and I achieved that(I ended up within 1.2 of the top). They way you get scored and placed is by getting points for your times and where you place in comparison to the others in your class. I got hurt by getting two DNF's. That really hurts you points-wise and causes you to slip dramatically in the ratings. I also coned 5 of my 12 runs which hurts as well. I was really pushing it hard trying to get a good time and when you do that you're far more likely to make mistakes. In had really good reaction times which helped a lot(I had one that was in the 5.3's!). I have never drag raced so I was very unsure of my ability to get it right.
This was my first race on the V700's and I have to say that they are a must have item. I was able to do things that I would have never gotten away with on the regular street tires, and they weren't even really scrubbed in yet! I ran 42LF/42.5RF/39LR/39.5RR tire pressures.

FTD - 93 Supra 39.820 Yes it is modified!

We use a pretty small parking lot for these races. Starting after 5-27 it is off to the old airport! The course was better suited for higher horsepower cars, a long straight followed by a larger curve that you had to go through twice. There was a two cone slalom, one lanechange and allmoast a pivot cone.
The Z24 had Falken racing tires, Koni adjustables and the driver had participated in several racing courses. Also this was the first time I have ever raced a front wheel drive, let alone this car. I felt pretty good about my placing. Knee permitting the next race is this Sun.

My first autocross back in my normal region/chapter with my new V700's. I finally beat the Acura Integra driven by the guy who was the class champ last year in SCCA competition. Bottom line: the tires help in a BIG way. He wasn't able to come within 1 second of my best time and he runs Victoracer V700's. It was giving him fits!
