possible turbo problem

well, my friend with the same car. is sending me 3 stock FPR for now. i am just gonna try them out and see what happens. will post back with my findings.

i think you may have an ignition problem. You need to first check fuel pressure while driving. Make sure that the pump is supplying the fuel you need at a CONSTANT pressure thruout the rpm band.

but i would think your ignition is the problem.
i have seen many of those probe ecu's take a s*** and act up. You still using the stock vane meter?

yes i am using the VAF. and as all other Probe/MX6 owners, hate it. i am gonna start with the fuel system. then if nessecary. go to the ignition. i will just replace the dizzy. heck, they're cheap enough.

they are notorious for going bad. have PRO_M make you a MAF and get a piggyback to control it.

i will also try a friends MAF and ECU. see what happens. i had another probe with 200K+ and never had VAF problems.

I was thinking MAF, MAYBE fuel (a WBO2 would be nice...put it on a dyno to see what happens), and there's a GOOD chance of a boost leak. ALSO, double check your piping around your MAF. What you described happened to me when things weren't perfectly secure around the MAF.

okay, i went and checked all my intercooler piping. and it was all good. tightened it down real tight. specially my TB boot, those are notorious for cracking. took it for a spin...and no buck. but i am still not sure i am out of the woods. it HAS done this before where sometimes it will buck. sometimes it won't buck. just kinda seems like it does its own thing.

today, no buck. but now my Vac/Boost guage is strange. when i press on the gas, the vaccum falls as it should. but when i maintain speed, the vaccum slowly rises back to 20 in/hg. is this normal? never did it before.

thats normal....

you may had a leak, causing an overly rich problem.

I was under the same problem as you by the means that I was running too rich because of a new fuel pump. I decided to put a MBC on the 12:1 FMU.

I still may have a boost leak, but now im running fine.

boost won't hold. it slowly falls off now. i think when i inspected my TB boot, i may have cracked it somehwere. i also took my car to the track. whenever i tried to launch the car would fall flat on its face. then jerk like hell the whole way down the track.

JA

You have a leak somewhere and eventually, running rich...thats what I think

At leat I feel the car fast, pulling strong, no boost drop. Im still running a tad rich (10-11:1) for safety purposes on 7psi.
