possible starting prob?

well on accasions i can turn my key over to start the car and nothing will happen. i can turn a few times and still nothing, but finally the car will start up with no signs of a problem, no CEL. Does this sound like a starter motor problem or possibly a battery prob?

Sounds like it's electrical. Check all the engine grounds you can find. Then, get a voltage tester and start testing the circuits for continuity to/from the starter to the switch, and voltage to power.

Betcha you find a loose ground somewhere though.

nothing turns on or anything? like gauges dont go up like gas gauge. if u turn the key and the gas gauge doesnt go up sounds like the battery, if it does go up sounds like mayb the starter... how many miles do you have on ur car?

well the lights and radio work fine. As far as the gauges not goin up while tryin to start the car...not sure, didnt pay attention but i will next time it happens. but this does not happen everytime i start up, maybe like every few starts it comes back. i checked the voltage of the battery and all looks well, i even had autozone test it this past winter and they said battery was fine at that point. Battery came with car when i bought it, so no telling how long its been in there

check the cables on the battery. It you have a loose ground on the battery, it can cause that.
