Possible Oil Leak and Possible ABS problem

I think i might have that oil leak others have talked about my dad and friends dad both said they have seen some and werent sure if it was mine. But today my brakes started making a weird noise, sounded like they were boiling almost and rubbing too im not sure how to describe it. I dont want the dealership to void my warranty because of the cone filter some are anal like that. If anyone has had this oil or brake problem let me know what happened when you took your car in. thanks

i cant that weird piece underneath broke off it wont fit in right. Im hoping just the K&N wont mess up my warranty i dont know though. Thanks

if you just have it clamped on to your intake tube, i would definitly take it off. Its not worth them giving you s***. Im not sure of that wierd piece your talking about, but try and get it back together before taking it in.

It was a part of airbox that was bolted down that snapped off when i was taking the stupid thing off. Im just not sure how this dealer will handle it, i know that oil leaking and brake stuff doesnt really have anything to do with a filter but they could say it does. Thanks

If you cant fix it dont worry... they cant prove that your intake setup is causing you brake problems or oil leaks... just doiesnt go together. That is like saying you changed your lightbulbs and now your seatbelt wont work.

Haha thats what i was thinking, ill just take the turbo xs bypass valve off and put the stock one on because that takes 5 minutes and its easy but the K&N just doenst seem to me to be a problem. Hope not, Thanks.

That's exactly right! The mere presence of an aftermarket part does not do anything to warranty (otherwise everyone who has a none factory oil filter are screwed), only if it can be proven the part caused the failure. It would be a huge stretch to prove that. Go to SEMA's website and download the law, be prepared.

If u are sure it's from the brakes, dont hesitate bring it in. They can say anything about u're filter. Chances are, the dumb tech wont even notice that u're thingy is broke.

BTW, what thingy are u referring too?

Hey OrangeSpeed,

Do you notice a difference in sound (not blow off sound) but spooling sound when you have the Turbo XS on there compared to the Stock Bypass Valve? Did it "hiss" less when you were on it after 4 grand when that turbo really screams?

If you take it to Brown's, and ask for the Blue Team, they shouldn't (not guaranteed) give you any problems.

Damn I have the Green Team hopefully they will be cool, as far as the bypass valve i didnt notice a difference until the K&N it was louder but by the posts i have read it will be loud with the stock one too..... since im switching it to take in today ill post in difference in feel or sounds. But mine sounds like a stutter my friends call it the turkey goble or a horse, stupid. Later

Brakes

I heard this damn awful noise coming from my backend one day that sounded like the muffler was dragging the ground.
I thought Great now I have to take it back to the dealer.
But alas I had a small white chunk of gravel trapped between the back of the rotor and the thin metal shield behind the rotor. It was making a moumental amount of noise.
I used a flathead and popped the rock out.
I swear it sounded like something major mechanical was wrong.

I know it seems dumb but do you think anything could be trapped behind one of your rotors?

Hell yah,

Had the same noise only in the front left rotor. Souded like a hell beast and I thought it was the brakes or even the transmission. Just a tiny rock in between the rotor and pad. Has not done it since.
