Hey guys, got a couple questions I'm hoping you can help me out with...

First of all, I bought a can of Seafoam for the first to clean my engine, oil and gas tank. My plan is to suck 1/3 into engine through vacuum line, 1/3 into oil and 1/3 into gas tank. I am going to let it sit for 10-15 minutes (as directed) and then run it hard and try to clear it all out and then change my oil tomorrow morning. So my question is this, if I am going to change the oil tomorrow, should I just wait until tomorrow morning to do this or is it ok if I run this tonight, clear it all out and then let it sit over night? I'm only really worried about it sitting in my car for about 8-10 hours before getting the oil changed. I don't think anything will go wrong and I don't think it will hurt anything, but I want to get someone else's input.

Secondly, I installed an ebay intake and mixed and matched a couple parts from a CAI I bought from Lewis on here. I have not reconnected or reattached the solenoid (I think it's a solenoid) that sits on top of the intake and under the strut bar and this thing starts making a loud clicking sound once my car has warmed up and I'm either idling or at light throttle. It drives me F'N CRAZY. I am 90% sure it's this solenoid that's making the clicking sound. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about...

I know this thing has a couple vacuum hoses, one leading to the Intake Manifold but I'm not sure whether the other end runs to. When I was installing the intake, I know the vacuum hose disconnected from the IM because I was getting a rough idle and such. What's weird is that when I reconnect it, the car runs COMPLETELY FINE, but makes that damn clicking sound! Should I reattach this to something that will ground it or what?

All input is appreciated :)

First off I wouldn't seafoam your engine, there's debate as to whether it actually does anything. I wouldn't let it sit overnight either. As for the intake try to ground it, see if it does anything. If the car won't run right without it then you should keep it on, driving around with rough idle or misfires could damage your engine; at least that's what I've heard.

the clicking is definitely the solenoid. I just got a piece of metal and made a bracket for it, connecting it to one of the throttle body screws. This solved the clicking issue.

Thank you for the input guys.

Did the Seafoam this morning and changed the oil, no problems at all. Just gotta change the spark plugs and she'll be tuned up a bit.

I'll try to get that solenoid connected somewhere and update.

I believe that forklike section sticking up from your CAI is what you are supposed to use to mount the solenoid.

I dont see how leaving seafoam overnight in your crankcase could hurt your engine.
Ive seen people run ~300miles with their oil+seafoam mix and didn't hurt anything, but yeah make sure you get the seafoam to throughoutly clean the engine, go for a 10-20mile run, than change it, simple as that!
I also plan to seafoam mine.

Im wanting to seafoam my car soon too but im not 100% sure on how to?
1. wheres a good vacuum line to dump it in for the engine?
2. Do i just dump 1/3 into my oil?
3. Do i put the last 1/3 in my gas? ( i'm guessing same applies to gas as oil, you cant run on sea foam/gas mix for long so do it on a empty tank?)

Yeah, in hindsight I wouldn't mind it but I'll probably just do the same I did. Put 1/3 into each, let it sit for 10 minutes, ran it hard about 10 miles.

I can say that I believe the engine runs a little smoother now, can't wait to put the new spark plugs in.

yeah that's exactly right. There is a brake reservoir that has a booster line (black vacuum tube to the left of the cap with a clamp on it). This vacuum tube runs directly into the back of the Intake Manifold. Remove the vacuum before you turn the car on, have a buddy get in the car and start it giving it some gas so the engine doesn't bog down from the giant vacuum leak. After this, take your vacuum line and stick it into the Seafoam bottle (or a cup, I separated the three amounts) until you've added however much you want. Turn the car off, add 1/3 to oil, 1/3 to gas tank. Let it sit for 10 minutes, start it up, letting smoke some and then drive it 10-20 minutes real hard to burn everything off. I did it with only like 1/8 gas left so I ran that tank out and filled up again after I had the oil changed.

i have a aftermarket intake so just take that tube thats connected to the head and suck up 1/3 of the seafoam?

put it through the brake booster line,
putting it on the pcv valve wont go in all your pistons
