Please reply here ( it's about the sway bar clunking noise)

Same for me ...I am in Baie-Comeau (Quebec)...and i have this clunk almost all the time...HELP MEEEEEEE!!

Hey guys, just got a call from my dealership. He was talking to one of the head people of Mazda of Canada. It turns out, they are apparantly aware of the problem now, and Japan is working on it. What this means exactly I don't know just yet. I think we should all find some way to get this petition to Mazda to show just how severe the problems are.

When my dealer mentioned that replacing the bushings rectified the problem for 4-5 weeks. They were apparantly very surpised as they thought it would be something to do with the rear shocks. This makes me think that Mazda isn't aware that there is more then one problem with the rear end of the MP3

The clunking noise in the rear seems to be completely different from the squeaking noises that happen when the car is really cold. I'm still trying to make this point clear with my mazda dealership.

The more more people that sign here, the better. Then we gotta get this to Mazda somehow. Those of you with your rims starting to pit and peel, should also get another petition on the go, then we can email that as well to Mazda.

i have the clunck also, it almost sound like a blown strut, i had the same clunk on my zx2 after i was riding around on lowering springs and stock struts for a year. those struts where blown

I had the dealer check out the clunking and squeaking on my MP3 and they told me that it was normal with a "sports-car supension". They tightened up the nuts and bolts. While I will almost go with that explanation for the squeaking when it is cold (the teflon bushings will make noise where the typical rubber ones don't), the clunk bothers me.

If anyone hears of a service bulletin on this, please post it!

The dealer fixed it by putting new bushings on my car. It no longer does it anymore. And I am in blazing cold Montreal.

Enry, that's what my dealer did as well, and it only lasted for like 4-5 weeks. Let us know if it aks up again.

I have got the clunking noise since before the weather got cold here in Toronto. It seems to stop when the rear end is loaded (passenger or luggage). The squeaky noise seems to come whenever it gets cold (close to or below 0C). It is more severe at the back, but the front got its share of squeaks.

One friend (a mechanic) said it may be because the material used in the springs are too hard. Perhaps it will disappear after I run in my car a bit more (only 3200km on mine). But judging from the posts here, I don't think this is a potential solution.

It's embarrassing when I have passenger (particular right after they commented on how great my car is)! I hope Mazda find & fix the problem soon.

Clinkity, clangity, squeak, clunk...........There are many different words to describe the noise i hear coming from the back of my car in the cold!!!!!
I am in New Jersey and it is reallllllly starting to get cold here, and now in the morning, after scraping ice off the windows, i take off out of the driveway, and CLUNK--SQUEAK until i get to work...........

The colder it is, THE LOUDER THE NOISE!!!!!

I've got it too- BAD. It's annoying and I don't remember hearing it when I first got it. I have 6,000 miles on it now.

OH- and also, my dealer told me that the noise was from the wing nuts being loose on the sub. They test drove it- of course it didn't occur to me that they drove it in the morning, then worked on it in the afternoon and drove it a second time after it had warmed up. I'm new to these forums- but I'm glad that I found them...

I am in toronto and the car is stored for the winter. I took it for a spin on the weekend to confirm the cluck noise and sqeaks, both are there.

Im in NC and I got that same damm sqeaking noise. I am going to ask one of the mechanics I know at the dealer.

I have a cold weather squeak, but no clunking. The squeaking sounds like is coming from the rear of the car. I'm in Connecticut and it has been in the 30's lately.

i got the squeaks over speed bumps. it didnt bother me much at first but now my friends are starting to point it out more and i think it might be getting worse.

Damn..I thought I was the only one having that problem...my suspension squeaks when it's cold out..and I have the clunking noise all the time..small bumps..big bumps...when I went to the dealership...the only thing they told me was that they put some grease or something..but that didn't work either..going to my dealer soon again...if u have any more news please keep me posted..I hate this especially when I paid for a brand new car..not a brand new squeaking car...

Ok well Mazda Canada has been linked to this topic. The reviewed it and told me to go to my dealer and get a sheet filled out from there so they can send it to head office.

My dealership it test drive the car and try and fix this problem. I am not going to ok the grease solution as it's on a temp solution. I want it fixed with something that fits properly.

This damn noise is really annyoing on these bumpy street in the cold. Stiffer shocks... bumpier roads... not a good combo..

Once I get this sheet filed out and sent it will take 2-3 months before Mazda from Japan will provide a solution for this problem.
