hey guys - i am looking for confessions of guys that have done some track days in their ms3's. what was the driving experience like? also for those that have put in some track time; what are your plans to take the cars driving dynamics to the next level for your next track outing? besides the obvious tire upgrade what upgrades do you think this platform is in need of the most. any of you have any track vids or photos to post?

Mine won't see the track for a couple of months, but just about everything I've heard about the MS3 on the track has been positive. I have heard that you should keep a close eye on brake pad wear, but that's just common sense. I'm also going to change the brake fluid to a DOT4 such as ATE Super Blue(and I never hit the track with fluid much over six months old). I'm going to familiarize myself with the car completely stock(or at most with a Mazdaspeed CAI) before I start playing with tires, springs, anti-roll bars, and such.
Here's an interesting video, shot from a Boxster S: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zap-BRWW8aM

i went to the track had a picture perfect luanch then missed third after 4 attemps it finally went in. According to these forums its the motor mounts they vibrat so bad that on the track you temperarily lose your shifting geometry so I bought some cork sport inserts to fix the problem 35bucks..

sorry i meant curvy road trackdays not the drag racing.

I've been twice, made 8 passes total. Both nights were sub 50 degrees, almost 40 on teh second night.

10/17/07 - All runs with CAI, Downpipe, Racepipe, and Delrin Motor Mount.

Run1: 2.585 60' (bogged). Made an otherwise clean pass of 14.403@102.73. DA of -245 feet.
Run2: 2.408 60' (wheelspin). 14.396@101.64. DA -301 feet.
Run3: 2.39 60' (wheelspin). Felt like BOV was leaking pretty badly. 14.194@102.16. DA -304 feet.
Run4: 2.411 60' (wheelspin). Car felt VERY strong. Spun through the end of third. 14.244@104.19. DA -454 feet!

10/31/07 - All runs with CAI, Downpipe, Racepipe, Boost Cut Killer, and Delrin Motor Mount. Run 1 also with Forge BPV.

Run1: 2.524 60' (bogged, followed by wheelhop). Misfiring above 4000 RPM. 14.786@100.94. DA -281 feet.
Run2: 2.21 60' (best launch I've felt). Missed 3rd (bang). 14.632@99.61. DA -394.
Run3: 2.537 60' (bogged bad). 14.541@102.66. DA -366 feet.
Run4: 2.582 60' (wheelhop in 1st, backed out, got back in to it, hopped in second, backed out again, spun through all of third then gave up after that). 15.652@99.2. DA -327.

I can't wait for warm weather and a sticky track.

EDIT: LOL, just noticed you meant twisty ones. :)
