Please help me identifiy the true color of my 2006 Mazda5 Touring

I'm getting ready to sell my 2006 Mazda5 Touring, and am attempting to identify the color. The Manufactures Decal on the drivers side door says 'Color Code 32B'. All of the touchup paint sites I can find call this color 'Stellar Metallic Silver'. A Bing search of only 2006 Mazda5 Color Code 32B shows this color to be called Stellar Metallic Silver. Bing Images shows that Stellar Metallic Silver can actually be two different colors.

Option 1

Option 2

My Mazda5 looks like Option2

Option 2 seems to also be called Stellar Silver Mica, and a search of2006 Mazda 5 Stellar Silver Mica will turn up more images of cars with the same color as mine.

So, is this just a case of a manufacture using the same color code for two different colors in the same model year? What color is this, and where can I find touchup Mazda Touchup paint?

Thanks.

Thank you Orangutan. I took a look at the color swatches and none of them match the car. An internet search for "Stellar Silver Mica" Mazda show a lot of cars that match the color of my car, so I'm more or less confident that it's "stellar silver mica" in color, but the Mazdagear.com site doesn't list that as an option. It lists Stellar Metallic Silver as color for code 32B. I've broken down and contacted a mazda dealership to see what they say.

Thank you again for your help.

It is confusing when talking about color names. However if you go by the colorcode on the door label you will be good.

Regarding your pictures:

2006: "Platinum Silver" is the color in option 1

2006 : "Stellar Greensilver" is the color in option 2

Both of these colors were dropped for the 2008 in favor of "Sunlight Silver"

Thanks MazdaDude. I was just going to post that the mazda dealership called it "Stellar GreenSilver Metallic". The dealership said that it had the mazda parts code of 0000-91-30S. Thanks to the community for making my first ever thread post a success.

I always liked the Stellar Greensilver, color reminds me of an empty glass coke bottle.

Are your door mirrors black or body paint colored?

By the way...Welcome to the forums!

Color codes don't mean what they used to.... My 2007 is phantom blue. The paint shop had to use a cromograph to get it's true color. Mazda has at least three shades of phantom blue used in the 07 production run. Then when you have dealer touchups or other body work thrown into the mix....

Just because you bought a car brand new dosn't mean it hasn't had bodywork done. Cars get damaged during manufacture and often in delivery to dealerships.

The top of the mirrors are the same body color, the bottom is black. It is a nice color, it shows every ding and scratch though. Or is it because I'm wanting to remove the dings and scratches, that I see them clear as day when I look at the car.

Went to the Mazda dealership to get the touchup paint. They gave me bottle of paint that was silver in look in the bottle. The guy said he could see the hint of blue in it. Needless to say, it dried silver. Frustrating. I'm not able to find 'Stellar GreenSilver Metallic' Touchup anywhere.

This website http://gtcarlot.com/colors/Mazda/All/MAZDA5/ lists the color and even gives pictures, but it doesn't give the color code. So close.

The wife says, not to worry about it as dings and scratches are expected when you buy a used car. She doesn't understand that we are well past logic at this point and have now entered the stubborn determination zone.

So the color code on the touch-up paint matched the color code on the cars door jamb?

The touch up paint matched the color code on the door but not the actual car. The guy was very helpful, it seems that his system was unable to provide him with the information he needed. The label on the paint bottle is 3F.
