hey guys, i have dipped rims and i was wondering if they would be fine after a tire rotation? Ive looked it up and Im getting mixed results. Some stay fine and other are completely trashed. Those of you that had to deal with this before, what are your experiences or advice with this? thanks!

What would be trashed other than your lug nuts and then only of they were dipped as well?

yeah my lug nuts are dipped as well...i’ve heard they tear off the dip from the lug nuts and starts to peel off the rest of the wheel

Well if there is no connection between the dip, it won't peal as a whole. Should have plastidipped the wheel properly and not on the car.

Once they break the lug nuts loose it will tear the plastidip and it will start to peal from there. U should of removed the wheels when u dipped them

I wonder if he paints a room in a house if he just paints over the light switch and power outlets without taking them off?
Common sense people.

Plastidipping brake calipers and brake rotors for maximum cool points.

Funny thing is that I've rented apartments where people have done exactly this. lol.

I also remember seeing a youtube "tutorial" video that taught people to plastidip rims while still mounted on the car. This is madness!

I just had my CX-5 serviced with tire rotation and nothing happened to my dipped wheels. However, when I first dipped my wheels, I took the rims off, and didn't dip the lug nuts. As the dip was drying in the inserts (or whatever you want to call the space where the lug nut goes into), i used a toothpick and removed the dip so when I put the lug nut back on, it would rip the dip off of the rim.
