So a couple months ago I saw this image rendering posted here earlier. I thought it was the most fantastic thing I saw so I thought I would do it myself! What do you guys think?

So I just thought I would tell you that I took your idea ( AND I LOVE IT ) / rendering on my car with pictures to prove it.
I have all the images of us working on it but thought you would want to see just the finished product.

Why didn't you leave the roof black, or use black plastidip on it? If it wasn't for that and the wheels, it would be dead on! Way to think outside of the box though!

It's always something I can do in the future, I just ran out of money on the project and said I can due with orange leftover as opposed to shiny black for the top. I think the orange top looks better and leaves me for the idea to do a black Pinstripe on the top of the car and once it hits the black I can orange the stripe. ( just an idea ).

Wow, that looks really good. I'm not sure how I feel about the flat black tail lights, but overall, it came out really well.

I do have one question. Is that straight plasti dip orange, or did you mix it with black to darken it up?

It looks good for plasti-dip. If it wasn't a matte finish I think it would look much better.

I did the tails like that because I thought it looked good at the time. I reget to inform people though that I have sold the Mazda 3S, I picked up a Honda CR-Z after getting a Excessive Speeding Ticket.
As to the orange I bought it from dipyourcar.com it's the firebelly orange. I DO NOT recommend people use them. The sprayer SUCKED and the paint hopper cracked, The paint was diluted and I would recommend anyone to mix their own. A normal car should take 3 - 4 gallons.... NOT 7.

digging this up from the grave, but you should have done this with satin black 3m , and 3m matte orange.

how is it holding up? have you tried removing it yet?

looks good i just HATE HATE HATE plastidip. it is solvent based and there is a risk of over-adhesion. there are other , more premium, durable options available for about the same price. :( makes me sad
but im not saying your 3 looks bad just saying i cringe when i see plastidip.

I sold the car and bought a honda CR-Z I removed all the plastidip. ( was a PAIN IN THE A** getting in all the cracks ) 3M would have been more expensive / harder for someone without VINYL skills to do. ( to vinyl wrap correctly you need to remove body panels )
