planning a trip to MN

hey guys, me and a few buddies are planning a trip to the twin cities. any suggestions on what to do while we are there? places to stay away from? good places to eat? etc etc.

also, whats all illegal in MN, are radar detectors and full tint allowed (on the front drivers and passengers windows) and all that jazz!

radar det are a ok to have in the car... turned on, on the other hand, is illegal... never had a cop bug me bout it but i don't get pulled over often... tint is fairly minimal here front windshield is a no no, front driver and pass are fine within the state limit but because you are out of state i'm not sure if the law would even apply.

Places to stay away from... North Minneapolis is not the best. Depending on what you are looking to see/do when you are here there are many options. I don't spend a ton of time downtown but there are some nice coffee shops to hang out at during the night in uptown. When are you thinking of comin?

ahh, ok ... what is the state limits? i have 35% on the front and 5% on the rear. think they would confiscate my detector if i got busted with it? i believe we are coming down the beginning of august.

I have never heard of anyone getting a detector confiscated but that is just me... you might want to hope over to mnmazdas.com i believe is the local mazda forum... there are usually more posts locally than here. the tint laws are.... http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/MN/ . At the least your coming at a good time usually August is a good time around here. Lots of meets for many forums and such. If nothing else you could come chill in the north west metro at one of the local meets around here with the 240 drifters and such.
