I would be interested, but I'm not excited about mazda reps seeing me there. I don't want voided

is there a minimum number of people to make one of these events happen?

the mazda teams Marlon (perro del sol) is talking about is the teams that prepare mazdas for use on the track in Speed World Challenge or Grand Am series races.

I talked to Tom from BeaveRun and he gave me 2 new updates and possible dates depending on when we do it.

1) Got a new price of about 250 a person for AutoX in the morning and The Road Coarse in the evening, In my opinion still high for us to bring in 15 people.
2) Talked to them about a new event, Gymkhana(most likely spelled wrong) but from the rough explanation i got of the event it seems like a dual AutoX event. The coarse will consist of 2 identical coarse side by side and 2 cars will go at the same time. The guy in charge of this is sapposed to give me a call today to better explain it.

But im hoping this turns out and we can turn this event into a yearly event. These guys are great at BeaveRun and are really helping me out to get this event going.(wrc)

I just got off the phone with chris at beaverun and he was telling me about the gymkhana events that they are trying to setup for the 09 year. Its not going be to anything crazy like the ken block video.

It will be the same price as the private AutoX event and we have two options to choose from

1. We can do a less technical course and have 2 identical courses setup side by side so you will be running along side someone. This will let you actually see where you and/or your car has its advantages and disadvantages by seeing where you either pull away or lose some ground at different area of the coarse. Plus it lets run with another person so that will add a new element for some of us.

2. They can setup 2 courses each being different but more technical then the courses in option 1. 2 cars will run each track. One will run track A and the other track B and then after your run you switch tracks and then combine your times and thats how you will tell who the winner is.

Hopefully these make sense lol, But once the problem with the forum goes away he will login and post up. He is also going to make us a sub-forum on the beaverun forum so we can get info and try to get better organized.

Im really thinking this will be the way we go. Its cheap and something new for alot us and will be a blast. I would love for us to do a private road coarse day but we wont get enough ppl with how much it costs. Cause in order for us to do have a private road track day we not only need to pay for the track and workers but also for safety workers and EMS.

So let me now what you guys.(rockon)

Hello!

I'm Chris from BeavRun (as the user name implies.. :) ) and I am here to help answer any questions you may have regarding the possible event.

In addition - I have created a topic for your event over on our BeaveRun forums. (I would prefer that questions are directed there, but I certainly won't ignore a PM here)

By the way, Excellent job of explaining in the above post, Brandon. (drinks)

Glad you where able to finally get on the forums. ill add the link to the first post and rearrange this thread to be geared towards doing gymkhana.

Sorry guys if you really wanted to to do the road track but i just dont think it would be the smart and most feasible thing to do for our track meet.

So if you go back to the first post i will have the info changed and see if i can redo the poll to see what type of gymkhana you guys will be interested in doing, and make sure you stop in at the beaverun forum.

Thanks Chris for posting that up and making the thread for us.

Lets get a list going, i know we dont have a date yet but i will work on it. Im going to look at other mazda events going on and try to get it to close to any big ones.

i would like to get atleast 15 to help keep the price down, we are paying for the rental of the VDA and workers. Its a per person cost, so the more the cheaper.

so, the $250 is for either option? or only option 1?

its no longer 250 and atm the poll is not correct. At the most it will be 95 person if we get 15 people. We are no longer going to have the road coarse as an option due to the high price. We are going to be doing the Gymkhana and most likely will be going with option 1 but that is not set in stone. I would like to get a the poll fixed and people start voting.

But if we get more then 15 people the price will go down.

I'm not voting, because I will go either way

good lol cause its not going to be Road coarse, to much money to get a bunch of us together. If you check the first post its going to either be option 1 or 2 and im thinking its most likely going to be option 1.

My buddy is looking to sell his Cobalt and he's leaning towards a miata, msp, or ms3. If he ends up getting one in time, he'll be attending.

well i know of two msp's for sale in the area one is a blue one and the other is a titanium. i know the blue one has 50k on and he wants 9k for it, only thing with that one is im trying to get my buddy into that one but he doesnt know for sure if he wants to buy, ill try and get some info on the titanium one. I think it has 80k on it.

But i might be branching this off to non mazda's. Once i get a date figured out ill let you guys know for sure.

Hay guys katsmp3 reset the poll and changed the choices for me so please resubmit your votes for what choice you want to do for the gymkhana event.

Im not 100% on an a date yet but it looks like the event is going to be held in August. Once the 09 SCCA event schedule comes out i should really be able to narrow down the dates.

Also vote away guys, alot of the other forums this is one are interested in doing option 1.

This event will be August 8th or the 22nd

If it all works as plan im wanting to setup a cookout for lunch and maybe a prize for best time and best improved times from the beginning of the day to the end of the day.
