Hey Folks,
I'm upgrading the stereo in my Protege5 from the factory radio to a Pioneer DEH-P4000UB head unit with an in-dash Sirius tuner (instead of a tuner+suction cup on the windshield). The head unit install went smoothly and its working great.
Now I'm installing the universal Sirius tuner (SC-C1) and the Pioneer Sirius connect interface (CD-SB10). My question is:
Where do I connect the constant 12V wire from the CD-SB10? The installation guide just says "connect to the constant 12V supply terminal."
Do I tap into the HU's 12V supply? or does this go to a fuse?
I'm not sure about using the HU constant 12V supply because the guide warns "Never cut the insulation of the power cable of this unit in order to share the power with other devices. Current capacity of the cable is limit." Although, I think that means not daisy chaining more device off the CD-SB10's power.
This is my first major stereo install, so I could use some expert advice. I've had no luck searching the forum or Google for an answer.
Thanks in advance!
