piggy-back

hey people. i'd like to ask you what do you think is the best ecu mod? untill now i was sure that the best bargain was an e-manage from greddy. a friend of mine has installed a revo chip on his 1.9 TDi golf4 which made his stock engine go up to 200hp!! i havent found anything about miata. is e-manage the best solution?

most Miada people run a Link. It's a stand alone, and not a piggy back.

Hydro Nemisis has hit the Miada market, but not a lot of people using it. yet.

personally, I'm thinking about going with megasquirt. A lot cheaper, but a lot more work needed to get it running right. It's a true DIY ECU solution... ;) but I plan on gutting the car and re-wiring it anyways.

i thought that link was only for turbo or supercharged miatas. will it make a difference on a N/A ?

IIRC, the Link is for TC/SC only. But I could be wrong.

When I get a minute, I hope to give MegaSquirt a shot in my CSP Miata. If it works well enough there, I'll buy another to use on my turbo Miata.

@miaturbo: megasquirt doesnt seen very trustable. and i never mix up DIY with anything that has to do with electronics ;)

@kcbhiw: could you give me some info about iirc? i'm only interested for something that would do a difference on a N/A

lots of people running megasquirt... and although they do have it as a complete DIY solution, there are also people around that will sell the complete ECU, ready to run, and all you have to do is the wiring. As long as you know which wire is which, you shouldn't have any problems... The good thing about MS is that it's opensource, and just like Linux, built around a comunity of open minded people that are willing to help each other.

Link can be used on N/A and F/I cars.
