ok i was drivin down the road and put it in 3rd from 2nd next thing i know i hear metal smashing and i have no 3rd gear so i was like s*** and pullled over and once it was stopped i had no 1st 2nd or 3rd gear and when its in neutral i stalls when i let out of the clutch!!!!! i am so pissed

I feel ya man my car is getting fixed after my accident. I am stuck with a stripped and I mean stripped FORD FOCUS. I guess I can't complain Their insurance company is paying for the fix and the car.

Mine did the EXACT same thing. Thats it I am gonna ******* talk to Mazda about a friggin recall, that is 5 Protege/MP3's that did this.

Hey spoolin, go for it man. If it does **** up they will fix it under warranty. There is too much evidence against them. 5 exact same tranny's did the exact same thing, and 4 of those were stock cars.

I think if we have all these people with tranny problems all threaten to go to the press they will do something about it. I doubt they want bad publicity. Will make their limited edition, hot selling MP3 look bad.

I seriously doubt Mazda will do anything. As said earlier in this post...."It's on 5 cars." That's what car companies have warranties for. I have yet to experience any problems with my car. Spoolin does have a bit to think about though. A turbo'd vehicle increases the stress on 1st and 2nd gear by almost 2 times in some cases since the engine can produce a great deal more torque. Maybe a hardened gear set may be in the future if the tranny is to give out hehe. If you do a butt load of clutch drops then you shouldn't be suprised if your tranny doesn't like you. If you have a grippier clutch and you still do clutch drops then you should expect your tranny to give.

if any of you have seen Fight Club you will know what i am talking about and believe me every car company does what the Narrator in the movie does... but in this case people arent dying people are getting very upset and pissed.... i dont think mazda will do a recall until over 100 protege's do this.... i have personally only heard of 4 or 5 on the forums that this happened.... im sure its more since were only a fraction of the people who own protege's... but i doubt mazda will do a recall...

You have a G Series transmission. If yours isn't defective you should be fine up to about 250 whp. The G series is one of the stronger transmissions mazda made so i wouldn't worry if your not experiencing problems.

wel they are replacing the tranny and the clutch but said since i have mods hat if it does it again they wont fix it under warrenty =/

Aight lets talk about this recall I was driving tonight And when I shifted to third it just reved up. When I went back to 2nd Sounded like the s*** fell out on the road. Now there's a nice clean MP3 with a full tank of gas and no transmission sitting in the steak-n-ale parking lot in hickory, NC. s***...............
