To bad is only going to be sold in united kingdom, but as soon my warranty expires I will make mine manual tranny , now I know it could be done with oem parts.

Words from mazda:

A six-speed manual transmission features a compact, three-shaft design and a wide gear ratio setting that allows full exploitation of the engines power. Sixth gear is laid out as overdrive, which optimises fuel consumption and lowers engine noise during high speed driving on the motorway. First, second and third gears have triple-cone synchronisers and fourth gear has double-cone synchronisers, which support smooth, responsive shifting.

Europe gets all the good stuff. But, Mazda was just producing for the U.S. what sells in the U.S. You don't see too many SUVs or crossovers here with a M/T, nor do you meet too many owners who would want one.

I like the way the auto looks better. It might just be me, but I think the handbrake looks cheap. Maybe if they put a leather boot on it, it would look better.

it will be much cheaper to trade vehicles to get a manual rather than buying the oem parts to convert?

That picture is pretty interesting... UK cars have the steering wheel on the right and this one is on the left... So this is not a picture of something that is sold in the UK

Good Catch!!!

Back before it was on sale in the UK; they had a website and I noticed some of the picture were just mirror images of a left hand drive cx-7.

There was one shot from the back and it was a 7-xc made by adzam

The trick is to hve the OEM parts numbers, BUT NOT TO BUY FROM THE DEALER (bump).

Is very interesting making a swap like that, if you're dedicated to do it, you can later sell the auto tranny and get some $$$ back.

I have a few parts for my project but I have to wait until I get my wife a new car(thought) a programable ECU will be my first step and manual tranny second step. Involves a lot of work.
