And if anyone knows what type of air induction system is on here I'd love to know. The car came with it and I'm only an entry-level modder :)

Nice car (first) I'm a neophyte myself, but I'm guessing that's an SRI. Somebody else might be able to say what kind. Is that an Optima Redtop battery?

yeah they are pretty good. Especially if you have some kind of stereo system in there that pulls alot of volts. They yellow top is alot stronger but the red is good for small systems.

This is probably a very dumb question, but I've never used an SRI....do those filters have to be replaced periodically or are they lifetime?

They should be cleaned periodically, replaced is a good question.....If they do I am not too sure about the life of them before its time.

I might consider lowering it if I lived in a different city....the roads here in Indy suck. I'd be affraid of screwing up the underbody or suspension.

It looks like an ebay SRI and you should be able to buy a cleaning kit locally or extra replacement filters. Nice rims, painted calipers too and maybe a grounding kit as well?

Thanks for the nice comments and suggestions everyone :) I'm still trying to figure out exactly what all the previous owner did to it. It feels like there should be six gears instead of five. When I get up to cruising speed on the highway, it's reving at around 3200 give or take.......feels like I should still be upshifting. Maybe I'm just still adjusting to the higher revs though.

Unfortunately that's entirely normal. There's bunch of threads about it.

Great looking car.

Cool score. What happened around the valve cover? Looks like something was leaking for a while & that heat shield needs a bolt in it before it starts rattling. Welcome, enjoy the ride.....................

Congrats on the ride. If I were you, I'd check the intake piping next to the master cylinder. The ebay SRIs have been known to rub against the master cylinder, causing a hole in the pipe and that isn't good. Look into getting an ebay CAI if you want to save money, or Injen and K&N CAIs.

awesome...another addition the fam...we should have a gumball 5000 with just P5's....I just got mine last weekend also

that would be awesome!!
welcome to the forums :)

L8R: A hole will form in the SRI pipe? I there a way to check for this problem or adjust the SRI? Also, I'm kind of ignorant about some car things....where exactly is the master cylinder?

Nice ride, same color as mine. Just wondering what do you guys call that color in the states? Down here in Oz we call it starry blue.
