I'll make this short: friend of mine had this hand me down camry w/ 283K miles that she was tired of putting money into. when the brakes needed work and she got a quote of $800! she decided to get a new car.
they were going to junk it, but I'm thinking, it has a lot of new parts, it runs, why junk it?
I bought it for $300. good commuter/beater/winter car, right?
but now it won't start
she let it sit for a few weeks but it was working up until then.
I've discovered this gen of camry is known for having bad ICMs and coils; most mechanics just replace the whole distributor that's assembled already.
(so much for toyota quality...)
she had a rebuilt distributor put in last fall.
anyway, I can get a new not rebuilt dist online for not too much, but my relationship with this car isn't starting out too well...
wish it was a mazda.
