just got it in today. i know "well if you're not a ******* crazy driver you shouldn't need it blah blah blah." i think the photo thing is usually absurd though because sometimes it's either slam on your brakes or just keep going and i choose to save my brakes and keep going because most of the time it's just being 1 or 2 seconds off and WHAM $50 (?) ticket in the mail.

anyways here's the picture i took:

found it for $16 on eBay

1 or 2 seconds is a loooong ass time to be running a red light. and if you're paying attention, you shouldn't have to slam on your brakes.

i meant 1 or 2 seconds as in you might be only 1 or 2 seconds from being considered a "red light runner" when all you were doing was driving

it's not a speed camera it's a redlight camera.

Was tested on Mythbuster to NOT work with real traffic cam

really? they tested it on FOX News and TechTV and the Denver Police Department and it worked

and even still it really was only $16 - wasn't that much at all.

I saw it too, but I have a feeling it will get revisited. I felt like they wanted it to fail as a public service announcement for people to not run red lights. Like in the picture above, the flash drowns out the image. On the show, they didn't use a flash that I ever saw. It makes total sense that if you can read the plate through the Photoblocker normally, then taking a picture without a flash would also show up clearly. So the photoblocker might not save you during the day, but those flashes from the red light cameras at night are pretty bright.

If you are paying attention, it is quite hard to run a red light.

Agreed.

$16 to compensate for bad driving is a waste. Working on improving your driving skills is free...

i will have to to say. I saw it on mythbusters also, but many reports came out after saying mythbusters may have falsified some data and corrupted some of those photoblockers to make them not work. I saw on another debunk website that many people had some "issues" with what mythbusters actually showed and tested and what they did with the product...

yea but don't sit here and say that EVERY time you're going to be PERFECT. green light look down yellow light. s*** happens. there's that "point of no return" where it makes no sense to slam on the brakes to stop so you keep going as long as your not a danger to anyone else (assuming it's yellow and not red). so don't sit here aand point fingers and be like blah blah blah you're a bad driver. just cause i have it doesn't mean i'm going to use it for bad reasons. just cause someone has a turbo on their car and a bunch of mods doesn't mean they street race. etc.

as far as the product goes. i've heard FAR more good then bad and more clips showing it works (independent as well not all PhotoBlocker produced).

I think the last time I "ran" a red due to looking down, amber, s*** happens, was in 1990... good luck with it. why don't you go run a bunch of reds and test it out.

hahah i'd rather not =) no one said i was 100% confident in the product or wanted to endanger others lives =)

LOL the kid next door had a basketball bounce off his head he just started screaming and crying PWNED!

*cough*

anyways.

Looks like a complete waste of money. Running a red light is one of the most reckless and dangerous things you can do.

Don't want a ticket? Don't run red lights.
